Description
Word spread that the Rebels were on the run and an end to this Galactic Civil War was near. Lord Vader and the 501st Legion routed the Rebels from Hoth. The Death Star was being rebuilt. Bigger this time. But even as the news of Lord Vader's victory reached our ears, the Dead Men Division were on out way to take back Lothal from the Rebels. Army Command deemed the planet lost but upon Lord Vader's victory and news of the fleeing Rebels, they were sure that this lowered the planet's morale. So rather than send us to Sullust, Army Command had us dumped into Lothal. When we finally reached the planet, the Rebels were prepared for a retaliation from the Empire and immediately attacked our Imperial-class Star Destroyer and her Frigate escorts after we got out of hyperspace. It was a gruelling battle but thanks to the efforts of Admiral Teague, TIE Fighters and the Star Destroyer's Marines, we were able to successfully eliminate the Rebel's Capital Ship and one of it's frigates while the other managed to escape the system. With no opposition in orbit, the 116th Imperial Armoured Division dropped on the planet and began our assault on Capital City.
The attack was spearheaded by a concentration of AT-ATs, AT-DTs and Stormtroopers while TIE Fighters engaged the Rebel's Starfighters. TIE Bombers were on stand by, awaiting orders to drop their payload on a designated area or at hostile tank formations. Troop Transports and Lambda-class Shuttles dropped off the Imperial Army Soldiers from the 60th and 156th Imperial Army Infantry Regiments. Our strategy relied heavily on overwhelming the enemy with massive infantry numbers and a combined arms approach. Without the support of their Capital Ship and Frigates, they had no way to take out our superior Armour with Orbital Strikes. The only defense they had were their Starfighters but our TIE Fighters were quick to rectify that.
Soon, the city was ours. Rebels were captured but with the threat of another resistance loomed over our heads if we kept them alive, all prisoners were executed. Despite the fact that Capital City was in their hands, there were still small Rebel cells all over the planet. Among them were Lothal's Rebel leaders. Our mission was to hunt down and eliminate each and everyone of them. The Stormtroopers were given permission by their Stormtrooper Commander to terminate the Rebels with extreme prejudice but capture the leaders for interrogation.
As I look at the bodies being dumped into a pile and incinerated, I couldn't help but wonder when the people of Lothal would join them. When we crush the Rebels here, there is no doubt that the people of Lothal will revolt. They will not let their freedom get taken away again. I have no qualms in crushing them, if it means order is retained. Order through Fear but Order nonetheless.
-Lieutenant Colonel Rima Aki, 60th Imperial Army Infantry Regiment, 116th Imperial Armoured Division 'Dead Men Division'
