I keep coming back to this piece, over and over again. I have a hard time staying away from it.

Last time I saw a plug of similar design, it was attached to a sound system. But this type of plug always reminds me of the Matrix. You know, those plugs they shoved into a person's neck to send them into the system? So that, of course, brings me to the thought... Plug yourself in for music! Feel that bass amplify your pulse and the music dance over your skin and through your body! Feel your mind melt from the power of the music that's dancing through you! It'd be like being in a room with speakers for walls, only better.

I like your Chromatic Series because of the colours, but i look at this one and I think that maybe you were afraid to pump the colour up in it. The colours seem to be just hightlights and not quite as daring as a few of your other pieces. This does not take away from the piece, I just think that maybe there could be more if the colours popped more. Of course, it could be that this is colour that is created when light shines through coloured glass, and if this is the case, then it's just perfect.

I agree with ~Central01Order . The round edges and circular design flows very well with the colour, and they tie in very well with your straight edges. You did a very good job in balancing these two lines instead of marrying yourself to one and sticking to it. The colours bring out both the straight and curved edges I think, and help pull together the overall image.

You managed to take what could be a very ordinary (and rather boring) object and make it interesting. On top of that, you made the said object beautiful.

Very well done.

:] I can't wait to see what you make! I'm loving everything I've seen, so I can only expect great things in the future!

No problem! I wish I could only support you more by buying prints. Maybe if you're still here in the somewhat near future I'll be buying some of your stuff. Who knows. x]

Finally, a piece I can attempt making in Google Sketchup with the v-ray plugin. I can attempt...but yours is already a hundred times better.

I love the whole chromatic series of yours, but I think this one really stands out to me. Light touches of color, lots of detail yet so simplistic, and the whole thing flows well.

whats the premise of Chromatic Series? what makes it different from other types of art?or... what are the basics? youve got me interested

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

k3-studio In reply to guitaristburke [2009-09-24 12:29:17 +0000 UTC]

I think that the concept of series is the scenes with happy, warm and colorful. I express it using plastic and glass materials. And I think this style is one of the abstract arts. If this style became a new category of the arts, I'm very glad. For it, I'll make some tuts in the future. ^^
Thanks alot for the comments.

If you said "Jack in", I would've fallen off of my chair.

Hmm, it appears to me to be a little too bright. Tone down or soften on the lighting/white areas that's above and below the so-called "jack". Also, try making the areas off-balanced for a depth-like affect. For example, try having the lower lighting/white area darker than the higher one.

As a request, how about making a dark version of this?
