Description A family portrait of Charles and Katherine Turner, with their first grown-up Chakat child, ZigZag.

Charles and Katherine Turner are the human couple who first bioengineered the Chakats, and they named the race after a combination of their own first names...

so these chakat things, do I have to speak to the original creator of the species or can I just make one at will?

I think he's given general permission for people to make their own chakat characters. They are all over the place .

Just out of curiosity, why did they make hir? Was it because they couldn't have a child of their own or something like that? Nonetheless this is a very heartwarming piece.

I do believe they couldn't have their own child, and that was part of the reasoning. For more info I'd read up on the lore at www.chakatsden.com

i never really got into Taur designs aside from the classic mythic monsters.. to me they just look ackward the way the neck meets the waist..

it doesnt make this, how ever, any less of a joy to look at, i love the detail and the expressions, and for all intents, the anatomy that is so fudged up in my minds eye and logic center, is so well done that it almost makes me believe that it would be biologically feasible to do.

and god damn they look like real people pretty much, i do love the Taurs hair stripes through

That's very creative! So endearing and the art is phenomenal! Their clothing looks real! Her denim pants and his slacks with the crease in the middle!! Pure mastery of doing fabric!!!

wow.... even sitting shes that tall...is that a normal height for a chakat ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rwpikul In reply to stokeman [2010-11-13 06:47:06 +0000 UTC]

That looks about normal, (5'-5'8" or so). Remember that when a 'taur is sitting like that, shi will still be at hir full height. Notice how hir forelegs are still straight.

hmm.. now that u mention it... yeah it does make sense that even when sitting , it would represent her actual height. tnks for clarifying
