I'm very sorry. It seems to have been deleted, but I don't remember deleting it. Just work backwards from this tutorial in terms of applying the different shades, then invert the image.

I'm just saying that the dodge tool isn't a good tool for highlights (and burn for shading)...
Instead of being monochrome, it's better to use a color that's on the warmer side of the color wheel than the base color for highlights and a color on the cooler side for shades- and of course, make that color lighter or darker.

I did this with my tablet, but a mouse will work, too. Mouse will just take longer.

Good tutorial, really helpful. However, I suggest you use a different font next time, the current one makes it hard to read.

oh wow, it turned out really amazing!! at first i thought..."naa...it looks really messy and she didn't used the smudge tool" but now it's just... WOW!!! and that with not much effort (i guess...)
sooo coool and because of the smudge tool, i think, or other tutorials say, that you should use the smudge tool, but BAAAAM here's the evidence!! it works without it, too!!!!!!!

Haha! XD May I please see how this method turned out for you? I used to HATE coloring hair...because of the smudge tool and other tutorials "ways". Then I tried my own way out and now hair is my FAVORITE thing to color. :3

hahaha me, too!!!
It looks every time so weird with the smudge tool... :/
But i think this style of coloring will fit me xD
I really like to share my result with you, but it'll take at least 2 weeks for me until i can start :/
(i'm right now in the US without my laptop and i will return to germany in 2 weeks...)
