Description
My college self portrait project, we're required to create a self portrait in 4 different styles, and one of them is a self portrait that closely imitates one of the pre-1950s Modern Art styles, which i chose to do Cubism. I referenced from Portrait of Ambroise Vollard by Pablo Picasso, tried my best to imitate the drawing as closely as possible. The whole thing is digitally painted, no photo montage, no texture on top. From start to finish, it took me about 10 hours of work on and off in PainterIX. It didnt end up as perfect as master picasso's work, but its a very good experience to paint in cubism style, which i never tried before. Comments are appreciated, thank you very much!Related content

Love it. Reminds me of vollard portrait which happens to be my all time fav p.p. piece. But damn i like yours a lot more. You put a lot more depth into it. Love it

That's really impressive. I like it a lot. I once melded Vollard's portrait with a photograph of me, and it ended up looking like one of my uncles!

Hi
I think this is a great painting in many ways. I am a art student at a swedish university. I would like to ask some question about your art. If that is something you would like to do, get back to me.

I think you've captured the cubism style wonderfully. I wonder how do you go about with cubism. well i mean how do you start?

thank you very much, i've no idea how to start a cubism either, but i just paint mine from one corner to another. of course, u need to have a complete lineart first as ur guidelines.

everyone can draw...its just a matter of practice. The more u draw, the more u improve. By copying works from masters is a way of learning too...i believe you can copy, dont u?

So much texture! This is very beautiful, perhaps you could consider a career in fine art embezzelment
What media did you use to do this? It's amazing, I wouldn't know where to start lol!
