Done in just about an hour. Not perfect but oh well...I'm still learning ^^

Thanks for the feedback.
I'll work on the shadows and the lighting...I think that should make the pic more dynamic. Howerver if I had done it before the poll it would have been cheating, because I would have gone over the our^^
With messy brushes I guess you mean the rocks and parts of the explosion...a bit more texture I guess?

Cool idea, and indeed what john said, 2 characters and a bg in 1 hour is a challenge!.
I do miss some bad ass shadows being cast by the figures and the rim light john already mentioned, caused by the explosion. Also your brush work is a bit messy, try to clean up some of the brush work every now and then. Still, pretty nice image!

that's pretty ambitious with the figures and all their gear. It looks good, but the figures would look better if there was more indication of light coming from the explosion cast on their bodies.

I noticed something was missing after I uploaded it and viewed it on DA.
I think I'll return and work a little on it. That will of course take it over the 1 hour limit though
