Ahh he didn't want a belly rub . I've known one of my mum's cast to gently put his paw on my hand and push it away if I try and rub his tummy or chest. But the fur there is so soft and fluffy!

He's a dapper little gentlecat .

Shiva and Revan also does it sometimes when they really don't want a belly rub even tough they're showing their bellies in an inviting way And yes, the fur there is so fluffy and soft

I think I read somewhere that cats aren't as fond of tummy rubs as other creatures. I don't know how true that is; maybe it depends on the cat or the relationship they have with a human. I remember seeing a video of a mother cat walking her human to a litter she recently gave birth too, meowing as if to say "Come look at my babies ". Apparently it's a sign that the cat has a high level with the human .

Aww that's a cute story I think cats like belly rubs but only to some point, not too much. And I heard that when they show their tummy off it's their welcoming pose but they don't necessary want belly rubs.

I agree . If I find the video clip again, I will share it with you.

That makes sense. One of my mum's cats is known to roll around, showing his tummy and making playful mews but if you go in close for a tummy tickle or a cuddle, he runs off.
