Through singing, Katherine can influence the attitude or mood of multiple nonmagical listeners (5). She cannot give specific instructions, only push others towards a certain mood or state of mind such as happiness, excited, solemn, anger, etc. The state of mind she pushes on others will also affect her. So if she goes for something more calming, she herself will begin to calm down as well. In tandem with her enhanced emotional state, Katherine becomes increasingly irrational and disoriented the longer she uses the ability. She can completely lose herself in her own music.

The magic takes affects on opponents within a 10ft radius from Katherine. The closer the opponents are to Katherine, the more heavily influenced they will be by her music.

  Katherine is a very forward-thinking type of person. She knows her passions and regularly peruses bettering her skills and talents. When Katherine says she'll do something, she means it. While it is somewhat uncommon for her to promise to do anything, as she doesn't like to keep up with commitment, when she does you can trust she'll get it done. She is very prideful of her word and expects others to be the same. Liars are not welcomed.

  She regularly looks for fun experiences and is open to doing new things. Being new in the city, she regularly finds new discoveries all around. Katherine greatly enjoys traveling and surprises. Rarely do changes in plans stump her! She looks forward to the unknown and has found the Magical Girl lifestyle to really scratch her itch for action and adventure.

  Along with her adventurous life-style, Katherine is rarely scared off by nerve-wracking situations.      Katherine's family often moved homes for business. The family originally came from England but had moved to the US before Katherine was born. Katherine was born and raised in New York City. Her family was incredibly well-off being not only old money from her mother's side, but also because her father was a very successful businessman who worked in advertising all sorts of beauty products. Immediately, there was a need for high quality and expectations placed on Katherine. She went to prestigious schools, took on many elective classes such as art, music, and more. She participated in these activities without question, and took a liking to music, but certainly wasn't considered gifted when compared to her peers who had all seemed to find their talents quickly. Nothing had clicked.

  As a child, she was always somewhat awkward and standoffish. It felt like her peers were all so talented and filled with potential while she was... 'average.' Which is how her parents would explain it. Although they tried comforting Katherine, their attempts fell flat and left the skitty feeling worse.

They would regularly compare her to other children, making her feel that her flaws were much more apparent and worse. Because of her lack of direction, Katherine would often act out by picking fights with other students and purposefully flunking tests. Her parents always scolded her for this behavior, but they would not do much else beyond basic shaming.

When Katherine was 5, her mother gave birth to twins. As they grew older, it was clear they were very intelligent. Samuel was the creative type, making works of art right out the crib, and his twin sister Tiffany was the calculated and analytical one who could pick up new concepts and solve problems much faster than her peers. Together, the twins were two halves of a full genius. Katherine grew more resentful towards them over the years, as now she was being compared to her much younger, more talented siblings.

   At 15, Katherine left the house more often. She went traveling around the city to find areas she hadn't been to before. Her explorations became continuously more intense as she went further away from home and into less developed parts of the city. Katherine really enjoyed the culture and humanity in these densely populated areas. She especially liked the musical performers. Her favorite busker was a Meowth solo guitist named Joey. The meowth was roughly the same age as Katherine, and played an acoustic guitar while singing slow, thoughtful songs that would tug at her heartstrings. Through Joey, Katherine learned about playing the guitar. She picked up on it fast and even purchased her own guitar to practice. She begun skipping her classes to play guitar with him. Again, her parents didn't like it, especially the type of music Katherine decided to pursue but they wouldn't do much to discipline Katherine; any attempts to ground her would just lead her to sneaking out; her parents were much more focused on Samuel and Tiffany; and any issues at school were easily solved with money. Katherine was virtually able to do whatever she wanted at this point, so she did.

Over the year she spent playing music and singing with Joey, Katherine quickly refined her skills in singing and guitar playing. He was a great teacher and made Katherine feel like she wasn't an outcast. She could be herself average self around him and he didn't judge her. She quickly fell in love with Joey. In their relationship, Joey was the dreamer. He constantly talked about his dreams of success and becoming a doctor. Katherine didn't like thinking so far ahead. She liked how things were now and reacted negatively to the thought of doing anything else.

Finally, on New Years, enough was enough. Katherine, a 16 year old, had stayed out all night and returned a drunken mess. The parents had failed taking control of their daughter, and were honestly somewhat scared of her... They had planned to put Katherine into place for years but never had the courage until now. Katherine was becoming an adult in the coming years and they needed her to be a functional member of society and not a HUGE embarrassment! A nanny was brought in to put the unruly teen in her place. This personal nanny of Katherine's was to monitor her entire life: internet activity, where she went, who she talked to, etc. They traded no control for total control over Katherine's life. And she was pissed. Her attempts to revolt were quickly crushed time and time again by the fearless nanny. Instantly, Katherine couldn't leave the house as much, skipping school was nearly impossible without getting caught and punished, and she had much less time to play her music. When Katherine did try to play her guitar at home, she was "encouraged" to play more acceptable music for the family. Her parents were happy Katherine had found a hobby, but it wasn't to their liking. They had the nanny formally train Katherine to play music they preferred.

  Merely a month later, in early February, there was the announcement of the father receiving a new job in Mitakihara, Japan, meaning the family would need to move effective immediately. The whole family and the nanny would be moving soon. Katherine was granted the request to see her friend Joey once more before they had left. There he was, on the same street playing his sad tunes. Of course, the nanny escorted Katherine around, but still the two made the moment theirs. Joey gave Katherine his old guitar, saying he had enough money to buy a newer one and that it was something to remember him by. The old beat up guitar had certainly seen better days, but it meant the world to Katherine. She wanted to stay longer but the nanny needed Katherine to hurry up and move on so they may pack. The solemn moment was abruptly ended and Katherine didn't truly get her chance to grieve with her friend... but off they went.

In a blink of an eye, Katherine was in Japan. In just a week, Katherine was in her new home, which was somewhat smaller than her last but still quite grand. Katherine snipped at everyone who dare spoke to her. She played her music loudly on Joey's guitar, singing so the whole family can hear her woes. The nanny was becoming sick of Katherine's behavior and attempted to reprimand her by taking away the guitar Joey had given her. Now, this was much too far for Katherine. The nanny was there when Joey gave her the guitar... she knows how much it means to Katherine. Katherine fought back, pulling the guitar away and berating the nanny for taking something so dear to her. The nanny did not let up and a tug-o-war began between the two. The old guitar could not handle its mishandling and began to break. Worried for the guitar's condition, Katherine quickly released the guitar. The nanny, still pulling, stumbled back and in the midst of trying to catch herself from falling, smashed the guitar against the floor. It was an accident, but Katherine was destroyed that her gift was ruined so soon after it was given to her.

The nanny had lost her temper with Katherine and scolded her for acting up so much. No one wanted to hear Katherine's music. She was just an alley cat screeching her tunes and no one wanted to hear. She needed to respect the nanny and her parents. She was so ungrateful and spoiled. She doesn't know how good she has it. How dare she talk to adults like that. The nanny went on and on as Katherine was defeated, sitting next to the broken guitar.

Katherine couldn't help but cry. Rarely did she show her emotions in the house. Not to be seen in her sad state, Katherine ran off out into the new and unknown city with the guitar in hand. She quickly became lost and hid in an alleyway. Katherine sobbed alone. All her emotions were boiling to the surface. Years of rejection from her peers and parents. She was so upset that she couldn't impress anyone. She wanted her talents recognized, not met with disdain. Her siblings were so much better than her it wasn't fair! She felt like could just vanish from the earth right now and no one would care. Feeling so unwanted and helpless, Katherine screamed out and destroyed what was left of her guitar and cried more regretting her poor decision. There was no way to fix it now. There was no way to fix anything.

At this moment, a little Sylveon approached Katherine, looking at the mess she just made. "This must have meant so much to you..." It was right. "It's a shame to see something so broken and worthless." Katherine couldn't tell who or what the creature was talking about for a moment. the Sylveon told Katherine how she could wish for a happier life. Something that would make her stay here better. Without a second thought, Katherine agreed to the idea.

Katherine snipped at everyone who dare spoke to her. She played her music loudly on Joey's guitar, singing so the whole family can hear her woes. The nanny was becoming sick of Katherine's behavior and attempted to reprimand her by taking away the guitar Joey had given her. Now, this was much too far for Katherine. The nanny was there when Joey gave her the guitar... she knows how much it means to Katherine. Katherine fought back, pulling the guitar away and berating the nanny for taking something so dear to her. The nanny did not let up and a tug-o-war began between the two. The old guitar could not handle its mishandling and began to break. Worried for the guitar's condition, Katherine quickly released the guitar. The nanny, still pulling, stumbled back and in the midst of trying to catch herself from falling, smashed the guitar against the floor. It was an accident, but Katherine was destroyed that her gift was ruined so soon after it was given to her.

The nanny had lost her temper with Katherine and scolded her for acting up so much. No one wanted to hear Katherine's music. She was just an alley cat screeching her tunes and no one wanted to hear. She needed to respect the nanny and her parents. She was so ungrateful and spoiled. She doesn't know how good she has it. How dare she talk to adults like that. The nanny went on and on as Katherine was defeated, sitting next to the broken guitar.

Katherine couldn't help but cry. Rarely did she show her emotions in the house. Not to be seen in her sad state, Katherine ran off out into the new and unknown city with the guitar in hand. She quickly became lost and hid in an alleyway. Katherine sobbed alone. All her emotions were boiling to the surface. Years of rejection from her peers and parents. She was so upset that she couldn't impress anyone. She wanted her talents recognized, not met with disdain. Her siblings were so much better than her it wasn't fair! She felt like could just vanish from the earth right now and no one would care. Feeling so unwanted and helpless, Katherine screamed out and destroyed what was left of her guitar and cried more regretting her poor decision. There was no way to fix it now. There was no way to fix anything.

At this moment, a little Sylveon approached Katherine, looking at the mess she just made. "This must have meant so much to you..." It was right. "It's a shame to see something so broken and worthless." Katherine couldn't tell who or what the creature was talking about for a moment. the Sylveon told Katherine how she could wish for a happier life. Something that would make her stay here better. Without a second thought, Katherine agreed to the idea.
