Thanks!!! I have lots of ideas for apps. I can design the hell out of them, I just can't program them yet. I've been trying to find someone who can program Android and/or iPhone apps willing to help bring some of these ideas to life. Could be some decent profits.

well I used that color palet intentionally. a lot of apps tend to use a lot of white and are very bright. I personally prefer apps that aren't, especially when in low lit areas. I wanted something that would be easy on the eyes. I'm all for saturating out the background some as long as it is done in such a way that keeps it easy on the eyes.

I figured you had a reason. I agree something neutral is not the answer. I'd like to see it slightly more saturated, I think it would help it appear a bit less gloomy and still keep it easy on the eyes.

Please describe what you consider "less saturated". That could be taken a lot of different ways. As in color?

Yes, as in color. Also, I would ditch the grey text. Black is the way to go. Functionality is most important, and grey text = blurry.

ehhh...lol... I haven't worked on this UI concept in quite some time. If a dev out there wants to help put it all together in an app, then I'll make some changes.

How much of this is just changing the UI and not coding new features?

If all the functionality is already there, I can try it and see how it goes because I'm currently trying to improve my Android UI skills anyways.

Also, what exactly does "provided WordPress is represented appropriately" mean?

well, a lot of really is just making the current UI much better. I'm sure we could come up with a few new features that aren't there yet.

As for WordPress, credit would have to be given. Like on the splash screen, it would have a little blurb that says something like "powered by WordPress" and full credit would be given in the about section, etc. The WordPress Android app is open source, so as long as we follow all of the open source rules it'd be fine, but I figured I'd step it up a bit and give credit where due.

If you really want to work on it just email me. I have plenty of other Android app ideas too.

I'm going to try working on this soon. Can you release a PSD with the image resources for this and maybe a list of the colors you used in the mockups?

I agree, the current app works, but is very basic. I spoke with the guy in charge of the WordPress app and he liked the design, but said it would be too much work for them to use it.

So, I have permission from him to build a new version, provided WordPress is represented appropriately. Who knows, maybe they will want it. So if anyone is good at building Android/iPhone apps and would like to have a shot at it let me know. I would love to make this happen.
