Blade couldn't stop it.

Blood was everywhere.

Staining every inch of white,

Fur and snow,

His loyal subjects,

His friends,

Silent and still,

Dead,

It happened so fast.

They thought they’d be prepared,

But the Kingdom was collapsed,

They had his daughter,

His baby girl,

Pinned down under their monstrous claws,

She cried out, “Papa.”

He tried to get to her,

Tried to save her,

But he was attacked by two others,

They held him back,

He pushed and pushed,

Desperate to get to her,

All he could do was watch,

As they tortured his Lacey,

The wolf bit into her back and tossed her up,

Then he caught her,

And threw her against the ground,

Like a rag doll,

Bones broke and she lay there,

Her wings were shattered,

Blood pooling around her,

And then he placed his monstrous jaws around her fragile neck,

And bit hard into her throat,

He cried out for her,

Tears blurring his vision,

They then attacked him,

He tried fighting,

He tried using all of his anger,

But Blade was outnumbered,

They bit into his throat,

Just like they did to Lacey,

And ripped it out,

They left him,

And he forced his body to limp over to Lacey,

His lungs heavy with fluid,

He held her under him as they lay there,

He felt inside out from the pain,

Blood staining their fur and the snow,

“Papa.” She cried, “It hurts, papa.”

Her silver markings began to fade,

“I know.” He said, tears filling his eyes, “I know. It’ll be alright.”

“Papa, I’m scared.”

“I know, Lacey. I’m so sorry. You’re going on a trip, Lacey. You’ll be safe once you are there. You won’t hurt anymore.” He sobbed, “I’m so sorry, Lacey.”

“Papa, I don’t want to g-“ She lay still.

Forever,

He sobbed, “I’m so sorry Lacey. I failed you.”

Redo piece! This one kicks my last one's butt! I just love this scene of my story. Lakota's father and sister before all her loved ones are slaughtered. I also decided to make their markings disappear when they die. Thought it would be interesting.
