“Sir, we’ve picked up an unidentified lifeform heading towards New York. I think it’s safe to officially say your hunch was right. The Vortaak really are back.” Miku said.

“I knew it!” Tanaki exclaimed. “An invasion can’t be far behind. Deploy the SMG unit to New York to intercept.”

“If we can’t handle this new threat, it’ll be up to the Earth Defenders.” Miku said. “I know they won’t let us down.”

New York has been one of the cities hit hardest by the crystal meteor shower. The entire city is riddled with alien crystals, and the city has become uninhabitable. The damage inflicted is massive, as a massive crater lies in the heart of the city. To make matters worse. a new strain of Red Power Surge crystals have emerged. One that has drawn the attention of Battra Wasting no time, he grabs hold of one of the crystals, and absorbs its energy. A fiery red aura now surrounds his body as his strength increases immensely. “So this is what real power feels like.” he said to himself. “It’s more than I could have ever imagined. With this power, I feel as if nothing could stop me.”

A pair of eye lasers suddenly threw him to the side as SMG landed. “Then you won’t mind if I give it another try, bugboy.”

Battra shook his head, and growled. “Another metal godzilla? When will such foolishness end?” He then fired a pair of Prism Beams that hit the mark, and struck SMG. But to his shock, the robot didn’t even joly. “The term you’re looking for is “mechagodzilla”, but thanks for the compliment!” He shot Battra down with a rainbow oral laser. “I’m here to take care of business here while he’s away. You got a problem with that, or what?”

“Then you’re every bit as foolish as any other manmade atrocity against nature.” Battra declared. “I will crush you like a piece of tin.” He then drew on the power of the Red Crystal, and fired a pair of red beams from his eyes that actually knocked SMG off his feet. He quickly got back up, however, and was quick to fire his maser cannons in combo with his optic lasers. Again Battra was losing his patience as he fell over. He wanted to rip this wretched machine to shreds with his bare claws. The only problem was getting close, since he had no shield to protect himself as Mothra Leo did.

He DID, however, possess far more determination, and ferocity. And those were his greatest tools. So with all the speed he could muster, he charged SMG, and rammed right into his torso. He then lifted him up with surprising strength, and hurled him into a building. Roaring triumphantly as the battle turned in his favor. SMG got back up, yes, but now he was fighting Battra in close quarters - a flaw in his system as he was built for long-ranged combat. And given his size, and nimbleness in the air, Battra was easily able to dodge each punch while slapping around the robot with fierce strength. SMG finally had enough, and fired the Hyper Maser Cannon in its abdomen, which threw Battra back. The two were in a standstill, with neither one willing to give up the fight.

But the fight grew more complicated when a humanoid kaiju in skeletal armor levitated to the ground, near a massive crystal in the center of the crater. The Kaiser had finally arrived. And his first act was to shatter the crystal, and absorb the energy held within. Both mutant, and mecha were surprised by the sudden arrival of this strange being. But SMG soon realized this must have been the alien he was sent to dispatch. “I come for the power surge crystal.” Kaiser said to the two figures. “Allow me to acquire its power, and no harm will befall either of you.”

“Never!” Battra exclaimed. “The power belongs to me, and I would rather die than surrender it.”

SMG then aimed all its weapons at the newcomer. “And if you want those crystals, you’ve got to go through me to get them!”

Kaiser smirked as he said, “Very well.” He then charged the two fighters with frightening speed. And when both fired their attacks they missed due to his leap through the air. As soon as he landed, he roared into the air, and his whole body ignited into that of a burning form. He kicked Battra away, and then began pummeling into SMG without mercy. The mecha tried to blast the alien monster with its weapons, but he proved too fast. It wasn’t until the two were grappling in a handlock that SMG was able to hit Kaiser with the Hyper Maser. He was pushed back, and away, dropping to one knee. But he was unphased, and instantly fired gravity bolts from his eyes. This caused extensive damage to the mecha, and caused him to short circuit as the electrical energy attacked his systems.

Kaiser was soon bombarded by more of the crimson beams as Battra swooped in to fight the alien menace. He got up close, and personal to the alien and started clawing at him. Kaiser, however, remained unphased, and grabbed two of Battra’s arms before hurling him into the air. He then shot him with his gravity bolts twice. This incapacitated Battra, and caused the Power Surge to die down...though it remained inside him.

The skeletal warrior then took this time to go up to one of the crystals, and absorb its energy. Thus granting him the might of the Fire Crystal. He laughed as he relished in his newfound power. A heat ray firing out of his four eyes as he devastated a good chunk of the city. He then turned to the barely functional SMG, and said, “You made it sound so hard.” Before he fired a gravity beam from his hand, and completely incapacitated the mecha. Just before he shut down, SMG heard him say, “Now, The Emperor has one of the Celestial Seven in his grasp.” Kaiser then grabbed a shard, and said, “And I have a new power to wield for myself.”

He then took off into space, to return to the Warship with his masters prize.

Battra left as soon as he regained consciousness. He was grateful the power remained within him, but enraged at having been beaten by an alien upstart. Though he didn’t owe him anything, he figured the least he could do was warn Thanatos about this.

They had some new competition to deal with...unaware of Krystalak absorbing the red crystals energy.

Bagan held the crystal in his hand as he laughed and said, “The Celestial Fire. Just as fire itself is the source of incredible power, so too does this crystal bestow such immense power to its wielder. Well done, Kaiser, in securing a sample of the crystal. I can also sense your exposure to them has also given you their power.”

“Indeed, my lord.” Kaiser said, flexing his hand as red energy engulfed it. “I can feel myself growing stronger with this power. It’s almost unbelievable.”

“Perhaps...but don’t let yourself immerse in the crystal’s power too greatly.” Bagan warned. “The Celestials consume the careless.”

Kaiser merely laughed as he said, “With all due respect, master, your concern is touching but hardly necessary.” He then left the room, with a glaring Bagan sitting upon his throne. Already, the crystals were enhancing his servants, according to his design. But he could not afford to have any of his followers grow too ambitious, and turn against him now. Not until all seven of The Celestials were his to command.

He would need to keep an eye on all his forces.

“A skeletal warrior, you say?” Astaroth asked as he eyed the black moth in the astral plane.

“Unlike anything I had ever seen before.” Battra said. “It resembled a human, yet appeared and fought like a demon. Even with the power surge crystal’s power, this alien absorbed enough energy from your crystals to overpower me, and steal a shard from the fire crystal. I couldn’t believe it. I had no choice but to flee.”

“You made the correct choice.” Astaroth said, as he looked over the crystal shard he had Krystalak use to harvest the innate power surge in Battra. “It seems my old master is introducing some new variables to the game that none of us were expecting.” He then firmly grasped it in his hand. “But this will not deter us from our conquest of Earth.”

“What do you propose we do, master?” Krystalak asked.

“For now nothing.” He said, producing a map of the Earth. “Let the Imperial fools have their victory. It will make it all the sweeter to take it from them. For now, I believe it’s time to introduce a “towering” concept to the world.”

He then pressed three spots in Sydney, Australia and watched them glow.
