Crystal Evil Returns

A rapid rise in crystal radiation has been detected within the meteor impact crater in New York. Scientists monitoring the situation are now concerned that this accelerated activity could potentially cause a dimensional rift, or "portal" of some kind, giving rise to who knows what. Either way, it could spell trouble for the forces of Earth.

Far out to sea, Lord Bagan hovered over the waters off the coast of Japan. He sensed Battra’s betrayal long before Krystalak had informed him of it. And he was well aware of the return of Gamera. His mind was fueled by hatred as he remembered that accursed terrapin. He was the reason Bagan lost The Great War. And if he was going to acquire the Anti-Life, he would need to deal with Gamera. That would need to start by reviving a suitable replacement for Battra.

Fortunately, he knew of one still trapped in its city, Nilai Kanai. One of the lost cities that became a casualty of The Great War when its guardian Titan betrayed his people, and turned to The Tenebris Regime. He was defeated, and sealed away with the submerged city. But such trivialities were nothing to The Dark Master. With his eyes burning red, he unleashed twin beams of dark power down into the depths until they hit their target. He let the beams fire for a few minutes before finally stopping. His arms remained behind his back as he watched the ocean froth, and bubble with life.

Roaring out of the waters emerged the traitorous titan, Dagarla.

Seeing who it was that had revived him, Dagarla lowered his head in submission. “My lord. Thank you for freeing me. I am yours to command.” Bagan made a smirk as he said, “Yes, you are indeed. And I already have a task for you to perform.”

Despite the GDF’s best efforts, the Tenebris Regime invades New York once more. For unexplained reasons, all attention is being drawn to the crater in the center of Central Park. And the MG Unit sent down to the city makes short work of the ground forces in little to no time. A call to marshal all available mecha units is made, and the GDF sends their own Mechagodzilla units. “Remember,” said Kiryu, “We want to get this done as quickly as possible. Whatever the cryog want here, it can’t be good for the Earth, or humanity.”

“I read you loud and clear.” SMG said, before turning to face the lone battle mech, and Trilopod horde. “Now let’s show them how it’s done.”

With that, the Mechagodzilla’s began the task of wiping out the Trilopod forces. While Kiryu relied on his Hyper Maser Ray, and Rocket Launchers, SMG utilized his full laser arsenal to tear through the Cryog forces. The Trilopods, though armed with lasers in their arms, didn’t stand a chance against the duo as they blew every one of them to kingdom come. Those that managed to get close were beaten down by the robotic kaiju. And in over half an hour, the Trilopods were wiped out, leaving only the MG Unit standing. The machine roared at the pair, and they back, and the fight of the Mechagodzilla’s (however brief it would be) began.

SMG made the first move by charging the robot in a sprint. That proved ineffective when the MG began firing rockets at him. This forced him to raise his arms in defense as he blocked the attack. And as for Kiryu, he was blasted by Optic Lasers that managed to push him back a few meters. However, this gave SMG the opening to fire a Rainbow Laser from his mouth straight into the MG’s face. This stunned it long enough for him to get in close, and clock the robot so hard that its jaw broke. Even so, it would not concede, and continued to fight. Its chest slid open, and a maser beam hit SMG square in the chest, stunning him.

But Kiryu was quick to punch to the robot, and begin wailing on it with everything he had. The MG also slashed at Kiryu with its sharp-ended fingers, scratching some of the metal. But it proved inefficient when two anchors attached themselves to the robot’s side. SMG had recovered, and was going to use the G-Crusher to help finish this fight. He charged them both with energy, and began to short-circuit the robot. While it was stuck, SMG fired his plasma grenades, and watched them blast the machine…..only to see the armor still intact. He decided instead to charge up his full arsenal while Kiryu developed an idea. The MG pulled out the G-Crushers, and noticed SMG firing another barrage of laser-fire at it. It’s head spun around like a top, and a cone-shaped forcefield materialized around it. SMG’s attacks were completely negated, much to the mecha’s surprise.

However, as soon as the forcefield was lowered, a blue beam struck the robotic Godzilla, and turned its entire body to ice. While it was distracted, Kiryu used his Absolute Zero cannon on the robot to freeze it at the subatomic level. And now that that was done, he gave a nod to SMG, which he returned, and the two performed a Double Lariat which shattered the robot to pieces. This meant the end to the Tenebris Regime’s Mechagodzilla’s, and a victory for the EDF. Now the two mechs had to do was figure out what to do next. Besides wiping out the cryog fleet above the city, that is.

Little did they know they were being watched from afar.

Before either of them could do anything, they were both blasted by an immense barrage of attacks from all sides. They weren’t destroyed, but they were deactivated. The last thing Kiryu saw was Krystalak, accompanied by Kaiser, and several other monsters he knew to be enemies. And indeed it was so: Krystalak, Obsidious, Kaiser, Gigan, Megalon, Orga, Megaguirus, Thanatos, Biollante, Dagarla, and Goliath. All of them had gathered to the crater in New York, ready to perform some manner of ritual. Though Kaiser couldn’t help but admonish the MG while looking at its remains. “And this was the last of our battledroid units, too. What a waste.”

“Weep not for the stupid, my friend.” Krystalak said. “You’ll be crying all day. Besides, it served us well while it still functioned.”

“But not good enough, apparently.” Gigan said. “Our forces have been cut in half while Godzilla’s motley crew continues to grow all the time. Now even Battra’s on their side. What are we supposed to do about that?”

Krystalak smirked. “Tip the scales back in our favor. Now that we have enough power, we can begin the process. All of you: surround the crater, and ready yourselves!” He commanded. And though some didn’t take to listening to someone like him, the master had commanded that they obey. So they did as they were told, and took a position around the energy-swirling crater. ”Swiftly: awaken the power of your critical mass!” They did this, too, with each of them seemingly catching fire, and turning into larger, volcanic-looking variants of themselves. Kaiser even transformed into his Ghidoran form for this.

“Now we can begin.”

“The meteor that crashed in New York? There’s growing activity there: and the monsters are combining their energies to make this happen. The high-frequencies have intensified. Something’s about to happen. Something big….evil.”

“I hear you, Miku.” Tanaki said. “I think we’re about to find out who, or what’s behind this crystal plague.”

“Well, if it’s not the Cryog, then what?”

They then watched the monitors alongside everyone else as the Invader Kaiju began to channel their power into the meteor, itself. After a while, it started changing color. What started off as white, and purple soon became the fiery red of the Invaders. The meteor then began to rise out of the Earth, surged with energy as its surface cracked open, and in the explosion appeared a portal. And from this portal, roaring in absolute victory, came a being even Miku couldn’t believe was alive.

“It can’t be: the spacegodzilla, Astaroth!”

Astaroth breathed the free air of Earth as he set down on the surface. His menacing gaze sending chills down the spines of all those present. So much so that they bowed in respect to the Herald of Bagan. “Welcome home, almighty Astaroth. We have been eagerly awaiting you.” Krystalak said. This earned him a brief chuckle from the crystal titan. “Yes. It has been far too long since I last stood in this dimension. Only the slimmest of chances has allowed me to escape my prison. But let the universe howl in despair, for I have returned.”

He then floated between Kaiser, and Krystalak. He gave the latter a look, then said, “You have done well, my son. Thanks to you, the Earth is soon to be within our grasp. All because of your efforts.”

“I live to serve, father.” Krystalak said, before turning to the mechs. “Now, what shall we do with these two?”

“Leave them be. They are unimportant. It is time to reunite with my own master, at long last.” Astaroth said. Then suddenly, the eleven kaiju vanished into thin air. They then found themselves in the throne room of Lord Bagan, who sat upon his throne as though he had been expecting them. He shared a look with Astaroth, before the latter bowed in respect to the dark master. The others wisely followed suit, and knelt before the Emperor. With a pleased smile, he raised up his hand, and said, “Rise my friend.”

Astaroth rose from his spot, and said, “All proceeds as we had planned, my lord.”

“You’ve done well, Lord Astaroth.” Bagan said. “Soon the final crystal will reveal itself, and then the Anti-life will be ours. Even imprisoned in an alternate realm, you continue to serve me well.” He then raised an eyebrow. “Yet now, I sense you wish to commence your search for the young gojiran.”

“Yes, my master.”

“Patience, my friend.” Bagan said. “In time, he will seek you out. And when he does, you must bring him before me. He has grown strong. Only together can corrupt him, and claim the true might of The Source.”

“As you wish.” Astaroth said, before making a request. “Yet our armies have dwindled during this war. This may make hunting the gojiran only slightly difficult.”

“Not quite.” Bagan grinned, before he opened a portal, and summoned forth a flock of arrow-headed demon bats with razor-sharp teeth. Some recognized these demons for who they were, while the rest were amazed at the sight. Lord Bagan merely laughed as he watched his secondary discovery in Nilai Kanai circle around their master.

The Gyaos have returned.
