Bagan
Hello everbody, and welcome to another edition of "Kaiju Analysis Discussions". Now as alot of you have noticed, i really love kaiju villains. And even though they are by no means human, Toho has still found a way to give them enough characterization to make them truly antagonistic. And many of them have already touched a strong chord in all of us. From King Ghidorah, to Spacegodzilla, right down to Destoroyah, these creatures have been what any good villain should be: someone we love to hate. But while these are some of the most well known kaiju villains around, there is actually one who is ironically unknown to the world of cinema, but to every kaiju fan around. A kaiju who came so close to becoming a reality, and to being featured in a toho film but still never managing to quite make it, that he has gained quite a bit of recognition among the kaiju community. From many concepts, to many designs, this kaiju in fact made quite enough of an impact to influence the creation of kaiju like Battra, and Destoroyah. I'm, of course, talking about the kaiju named Bagan. And Bagan is quite the accomplished kaiju in spite of being a scrapped kaiju. Because while toho may have forgotten this potential antagonist, we the fans have not. In fact, we've done our best to pay our respects to, and honor this great fallen guardian by making apic fan arts, featuring him in stories as an antagonist, and even considering him a part of the Godzilla universe even though toho has yet to do so. This is a kaiju who may have missed his mark in film, but he's left quite the impact to his fans everywhere. And i'm gonna be talking about him today. Because, as it happens, he's also one of my absolute favorite kaiju, along with Spacegodzilla. But the only problem is that i couldn't feature him in an actual "Kaiju Analysis" post because all there is of him in the film industry are his concepts, and his game appearance. Something i don't find good enough to be made into an analysis, especially when it would be an uneven match between Neo and Endgame. So instead, i will be paying my respects by discussing what i like about him, and what i feel makes him so great as an antagonist. In fact, i'll even be making nods to certain other writers, and their own renditions of the god of destruction. After all, their renditions are some of the best i have ever seen before. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. For this will be my discussion of the infamous chimerac god of destruction, and potential God of Darkness, Bagan.
Kaiju Analysis: Bagan
Ever since he was first mentioned, and his concept was created, Bagan has always been a fun topic of interest for discussions, and story usage. He was intended to be a new enemy for Godzilla, before the Mechagodzilla movies, i believe. He was a chimeric kaiju composed of a dragon, an ape, and a fish. I think he was also supposed to be a shapeshifter who could switch between forms until he gets stuck in what we call "Totem" Bagan, and then getkilled later. Now while this idea seems good, i don't think it would've worked well as an interesting kaiju. After all. he doesn't look all that great as a "totem kaiju", so i don't really find much interest in his design here. But then came the Heisei era, and a new age of possibility for Bagan. This time he was to be featured as a former guardian kaiju who eithe gets trapped in ice because ancient humanity believed he was too dangerous, or he gets stuck in the ice by accident. Either way, this results in him waking up thousands of years later, sensing the destructive change done to the earth, and gets enrgaged enough to swear to destroy humanity, up until Godzilla defeats him. But due to the box office flop of "Godzilla vs Biollante", the idea was scrapped, and Bagan was shelved. This led to toho trying to send him to the mothra movie franchise, where his concept would remain the same, but he would fight Mothra instead. But again, for reasons i don't know, it was scrapped, and he never saw the light of day. In fact, the only thing about Bagan that does see daylight is his design: a three-horned dragonic kaiju who resembles an evil version of Godzilla or something. I can't really describe it. But i can describe his role in the "Super Godzilla" game, where he finally got featured as an enemy. As a matter of fact, he's the final boss of the game. Basically, like any Godzilla movie, a bunch of aliens decide to take over earth, and use a bunch of kaiju to do so. Bagan being chief among them. At the end of the game, he gets fused with the DNA of both Godzilla AND King Ghidorah, making him an all mighty destroyer. And from what i know, he's all but impossible to beat with regular Godzilla. This is why it's necessary to fight him as Super Godzilla, and even then he's practically impossible. But nevertheless, he gets beaten and the day is saved. Now this is the concept that starts getting interesting. The fact Bagan is made so powerful that he can devastate any kaiju who comes to face him is stunning. And even though it was because of the cells, i have no doubt that anywhere else, he'd be a mighty tough enemy to beat. Too bad noone in the media, not toho, or whoever made the games, took advantage of Bagan's potential, and left him to gather dust in a corner somewhere. That is until several years later when renowned artist KaijuSamurai created his epic, and amazing fanfictional art series- Godzilla Neo.
Here, he basically took the elements that make Bagan great, and improve him by an unfinite margin. And even though he's a product of some alien race, it's no real problem. Especially considering that these aliens, The Garoga, are the creators of King Ghidorah himself, and they create Bagan as a way to "replace" him after his defeat, and to finish the job of destroying the earth. To do so, they basically make him from the DNA of at least 4 kaiju: Godzilla, King Ghidorah, and the Orochi spawns Jyarumu and Balkzarden. The resulting fusion creates a being far more powerful, and evil than any that came before. And his design is absolutely brilliant, too. He actually looks like a fusion between the kaiju i just mentioned, and takes in their qualities rather well. His arms are comprised of the light and shadow kaiju, which gives him an energy blade and blaster respectively. He's as invincible, if not even mmoreso, than King Ghidorah, and he has a superior version of Godzilla's G-cells. In short, he's a living, breathing powerhouse, and he's practivcally all powerful, and almost totally invincible, too. And he actually looks like a sentai villain, with Master Org, or whatever he was called in the sentai's final form in mind. And what's the first thing he does after he emerges from a creepy, blood-red domed cocoon? He massacre's Mothra and Battra in mere minutes. Even Godzilla himself couldn't stand against their combined strength, and he kills them in less than a few minutes. This is something i really love because it givestribute to the nightmarish strength and power Bagan possessed in his game debut. But personally, i see him as even stronger than his original depictions, and absolutely nothing happens to prove me wrong. After all, he basically fights off against a Super Godzilla granted the powers of the six Orochi spawn themselves in a fight that basically shapes Tokyo into a new landscape, making this a literal battle of gods. And yet, in spite of Godzilla's new power, he's quickly put on the defensive by Bagan because of how horribly powerful he is, and the risk of getting overwhelmed is quite evident. But he's saved by the untimely arrival of Gigamoth, the original combined form of Mothra and Battra. Guess this really does make them this universes kami and Piccolo, which is pretty cool. But even with the two most powerful kaiju on earth, Bagan still proves too much for them. He basically withstands everything they throwq at him, and he returns the punishment with equal severity. I have no doubt that if they kept fighting, Bagan would've won eventually. And it's only thanks to Mecha King Ghidorah's intervention, because he can't stand someone like Bagan taking what's his, and give's Godzilla and Gigamoth enough time to gather the necessary energy, which also comprises of the souls of the dead earth defenders, and annihilates both Bagan and MKG. And by far, this is probably my first favorite depiction of Bagan to date. He's nightmarishly strong, his design is epic, and also creepy, but he's also epic in the sense that he's matt's equivalent of Cell, who was also meant to be the final enemy of Dragon Ball Z. He does very well to serve as the endgame final boss, and he didn't disappoint in the slightest. I appreciate this depiction so much that he's one of my favorites in the community. Though i can admit, Daizua123 also comes pretty close to making a great Bagan, too.
Like in Neo, Bagan is a chimeric creation of an alien race. But in this case, it's only one alien, and it just so happens to be the manifested soul of the king of terror himself, Lord Ghidorah. Someone who is given quite the splendid role of the "Dark Lord" characterization, and lives up to it nicely. After Operation FInal Wars, he basically decides after a couple of years to engage in his contingency plan: create a kaiju more powerful than Godzilla and King Ghidorah, and use it to destroy the earth and the kaiju for good. To do so, he basically steals his original bodies middle head and a bunch of G-cells from G-Force, and then fuses them together to create Bagan. And no, i didn't forget the part where his cocoon, along with Neo Bagan's cocoon, can basically absorb all manner of organic material to grow stronger. But to be honest, i don't think it's that important to bring up, though it does make Bagan's abilities more interesting, and explains how he is so nightmarishly powerful aside from being because of his stolen cells. But i do think an important factor to mention is his size. Because booooy is he massive. Though i forgot his exact height, he easily dwarfs Biollante in size alone. And i think Goji2014 could reach up to his chin or something. But i digress. Because size doesn't mean everything when you're someone like Bagan, who can face down every kaiju on earth short of Godzilla and Mothra, and then trap them all in a diamond storm, which probably traps them similar to Spacegodzilla's crystal prison while he drains the life out of them slowly. But soon enough, as expected, Godzilla is turned into Super Godzilla, and he faces off against Bagan in another duel of Godlike proportions. Though complications arise as Spacegodzilla himself shows up to take Bagan's side, and turn he tables on Godzilla until Mothra basically deal with him. And thanks to Lord Ghidorah's own death via human protagonists, Bagan is weakened enough for Godzilla to unleash his ultimate attack, and annihilate Bagan for good. Now this was another fine example of a final boss, whether in movies, cartoon, anime, or video games, though this story is basically one great big anime. But i think you get the idea. But in spite of this, i feel as if Bagan could be more of a fearsome villain kaiju. One who is basically a source of evil, and even sometimes an example of a fallen guardian. Though the idea of him being a chimeric cross of kaiju is still interesting. But what makes it more interesting is the prospect of him using the organic bits to form a new body to bring chaos to the world. And that's where Kaijudude and his own story come in.
Here, Bagan is not a simple product of an alien race. But a primordial force of evil that has existed since time immemorial. Basically speaking, he is the living embodiment of Darkness itself. And before he had a body, he was a powerful force that fought with his eternal enemy known as The Light. And for centuries, these two forces have waged an eternal battle with one another, even shaping the earth itself. Though i wonder if i'm the only one who get's both a "Transformers" vibe, and a "Legend of Korra" vibe from this idea. Cause if anything, it reminds me fo the clashes between Raava and Vaatu, and even the fight between Primus and Unicron. But considering how much more complex the latter is, i'll stick with the former just for simplicities sake. Either way, this catches the attention of an all powerful weapon/item known as the Nova Core. A small, pearl like Jewel which contains the power of the universe itself, and can only be wielded by the strongest of beings, either good or evil. Howwever, the Nova core was more of a balance keeper, and it presented itself to the light in order to show it how destructive it had become. Either way, the light gets the idea, and takes on the form of a winged guardian we all know and love: Mothra. She then uses the cores power to defeat the Darkness, and imprison it in the earth for all time. Afterwards, the core is hidden away so noone can find it to prevent any evil beings, and even the Darkness itself from wielding it. However, the Darkness wasn't kept imprisoned entirely, and some of its power was free to plague the world. This gave rise to evil kaiju such as DesGaruGaru, Dagarla, Axor, and Orochi. Though in response, the light instilled it's power into other beings which gave birth to the likes of Mothra, King Caesar, and even Ikusagami. But even though they were either destroyed (Axor), or imprisoned, these beings were eventually released, and brought new destruction to the world in the darknesses name. Thankfully however, in spite of the old Mothra's death, a new Mothra was brought into being who vanquished each of the dark kaiju. This being Mothra Leo, eventually Ikusagami Mothra Leo. But either way, the darknesses true agenda came after King Ghidorah's defeat, and eventual return as MKG. As it happens, the original disciples of Darkness, who created the kaiju Dagarla himself, were used to acquire the necessary things to bring the Darkness back in a new body. These were, of course, Godzilla's G-cells and King Ghidorah's middle head. But of course, another part of the ritual involved human sacrifice, and thanks to EDF intervention, the cultists were forced to use themselves to finish the task. This resulted in the creation of the God of Darkness, Bagan. And as you'd expect, he's no pushover at all. Even with Leo and Battra throwing everything they had against him, his own power, and his newfound healing factor negated everything he did, and he beat both of them. But his real interest was in getting the Nova Core, which was currently being sent to Godzilla via the Gotengo crew, or probably afterwards, which gave rise to Super Godzilla, who also beat down MKG when he tried to attack him. Something that prompted him to seek out Bagan, and attempt to conceive an alliance with the dark god. I guess he could sense his own DNA inside Bagan, and got it into his head that he could join forces with him. But too bad Bagan didn't have the same idea, and rebuffed Ghidorah's proposal. And by that, i mean he basically blasted MKG away like he was nothing, which by all accounts he was. And this makes this version of Bagan interesting, too. While he's supposed to be based on Hirudegarn as Kaijudude once told me, he also reminds me of Trigon from the original Teen Titans cartoon series. A demonic force of evil who is allied to noone, and is practically a god of evil. And if anything, Bagan sems to be as arrogant as Trigon. And it leads to a confrontation between him, Super Godzilla, and the divine moths. But unfortunately, thanks to his attributes, he can easily take what they throw at him, and shrug off what damage they do inflict. Which makes beating him very difficult. But just as he's about to unleash his Ultimate, Ghidorah comes up from behind, and holds Bagan in place with his machine hand. Since, true to his nature, he could not stand someone else but him killing Godzilla. This gives Godzilla the needed chance to access the Nova core's power, and destroy Bagan completely while simply blasting MKG away. Another great evil is defeated once more. And as you can see, i'm quite interested in this Bagan. He's basically played as a primary evil, and as a dark god of sorts. But even so, there has only been one depiction of him so far that has embodied everything i've always wanted to see in Bagan. And that's in the ever brilliant crossover of Godzilla and My Little Pony: friendship is Magic called "The Bridge" written by the ever brilliant tarbano .
In this universe. Bagan was created as a guardian of the earth alongside Mothra and Battra. This was in part due to the arrival of the demonic space dragons Grand King Ghidorah and DesGhidorah. In the fight, DesGhidorah is sealed in the earth's core by the moth's, but Bagan basically beats Ghidorah to within an inch of his life, and forces him to flee with what little he's got. Ever since, Bagan has remained an ever vigilant, ever ready protector of the world, keeping it safe from any threat that may arise someday to attack. But for some reason unknown to any but Mothra and Battra, at the time of humanities emergence, and subsequent technological peak, Bagan goes rogue, and decides to wipe out humanity, and even the dinosaurs they used their science to revive. But thankfully, he is defeated by Mothra and Battra, then sealed beneath Attu Island, presumably to never return. In response, the last of old humanity uses their science to create five new guardians named Anguirus, Gamera, Baragon,Yongarry, and Reiga as a contingency, in case Bagan should ever escape his prison. And ever since his imprisonment, Bagan has become a monstrous force of evil, using his newfound, godly powers to influence the world around him, and use others in his bid to escape, and destroy the world. And here is what i love about this Bagan more than any others. As told to me by Tarb himself, Bagan is a conceptual cross between religious devil figures like Lucifer, Neltharion, and even Unicron himself. He's a former divine guardian of the world who for some reason turned against his comrade's, and fell from grace, forcing them to trap him within the earth itself where he has influenced both humans and kaiju for centuries. And his mindset is like Deathwing's: he believes that life is pointless, short term nuisance that has no real place in existence, and that death is the only true absolute which prompts him to give everyone he encounters the so-called gift of death and destruction. I have no idea where he got this mindset from, but clearly something messed up happened to make him like this. And the worst of all these influences, the unicron effect. Like him, Bagan is a borderline omnipotent, godlike being who appears more demonic than anything else. He's cold, cruel, and completely merciless in his work. And he knows how to play events in his favor. In fact, he's responsible for both the events of !985, and for "Battle for Earth". In his imprisonment, he created what i assume are this universes version of totem Bagan, now a being formed from Bagan's essence. Sensing Godzilla Senior, and recognizing him as a perfect tool for chaos, he sets his demons against him, draining his energy, and forcing him to go to Japan to replenish his energy, which leads to him getting trapped in Mt Mihara. But the second time was worse, because Bagan used his dark powers to influence Godzilla into a bloody rage, and set him against the divine moths, where he killed Battra before Mothra purged Bagan's influence from Senior's mind. However, the depth's of Bagan's manipulations only grew from then on. When the battle for Monster Islands took place, and the GDF decided to use Dimension Tide, after it sent our kaiju nsix to equestria, Bagan took control of the machine, and also sent at least twelve evil kaiju to equestria as well. But he used the weapon to not only release him from his prison, but to also send him to the realm of The Shadow of Red: Zenith. There, along with his acolytes, he faces off against Red, demonstrating how strong he is even with his power diminished. And when Red tried to send Bagan to another dimension, Bagan's minion sent him instead, leaving Bagan to reshape Zenith into a dark reflection of what i can surmise is his own soul. And an interesting thing to note is that Bagan also has the power to bend reality to his will, and shape it as he sees fit. In this case, he uses his power to freeze the entire dimension in snow and Obsidian, and reshape the temple into a mockery of Chinese/Japanese culture. Basically, he turns Zenith into the ninth circle of hell itself. Showing what i honestly think is another interesting concept. Where like lucifer from possibly both "Supernatural" and "Dante's Inferno", instead of his soul being a fiery, raging inferno like everyone thinks, it's actually the absolute, and complete opposite. And he has the power to let that out of his monstrous soul, and manipulate the world around him. Always a fun concept i like looking at. But anyway, back to his Unicron Influence, because we're coming up to where it's the strongest. After he takes Zenth for himself, he encases himself in an obsidian dome with either red or purple glifs while sitting on a throne, and then opens a portal to equestria, bringing forth the evil kaiju who were summoned, though not all of them are evil. This list includes Grand King Ghidorah, Legion, Gaira, Hedorah, Monster X, Gigan, Megalon, the Gyaos swarm, and 4 of the Pacific rim.antiverse kaiju, mainly Slattern, Otachi, Leatherback, and Knifehead. Once everyone has arrived, he then vaguelt explains who he is, on account of the risk of Ghidorah recognizing him and attempting to attack him, even though he and Legion does so anyway after getting pissed aboutn his claim of godhood, and then proceeds to assert his authority over all of them, giving a small demonstration of his power. He then explains a bit of his plan, and then offers each and every one of them their dark heart's desires, whether evil, or not, in exchange for their willful service to him, which they of course agree to. Now, as i said, this is where Unicron's inspiration for Bagan is at its peek. Bagan reveals himself to be cruel, and brutal being who will not tolerate anyone being against him. He is more than willing to force others to serve him even after he gives them the choice to do so willingly. All to establish a simple fact: he is a god, and the others are nothing to him. Even if he's not at full strength, he can still keep them in line, and use both fear and intimidation to induct their cooperation. As far as he's concerned, everyone, human, kaiju, and ponies are just pointless things. Toys and tools to be used as he sees fit, and to be thrown away once he's done with them. As he demonstrates with King Sombra, who he uses to chaos chaos and disruption in the crystal empire, then to "reclaim" his horn after his death, followed by him hanging his horn on a wall like a trophy to admire, and play with. Either way, he begins using his new forces to gather mystical items in equestria, and even it's alternate universes like both of the Maretropolis worlds, and even the canterlot high dimension. And if there was any doubt for just how powerful Bagan was, then the fact he can tear open doors into other dimensions, even ones blocked off from the main for a certain amount of time, is proof that he is not someone to trifle with. And sadly, his powr has already grown quite alot thanks to the villains acquisition of the Alicorn Amulet, and two Electro Orbs that belonged to the Mane-iac, which he then proceeded to drain the energy out of, reducing them to ashes and dust. And just recently, after the emergence of Keizer Ghidorah, Bagan banished him to the Equestria Girls world, convincing everyone that he would "take care of" him, where he saw the potential of Keizer's power, and sent one of his acolytes to acuire his energy. True, his plan to abduct both Princesses Celestia and Luna failed, as well as his attempts to get the elements/tree of harmony, he's still building up his power, growing stronger by the minute. And the most interesting thing is that even the Nightmare Entity aka Nightmare Moon's essence, fears Bagans power, and tried to warn Rarity of his return. And that if he should reach full power, and get to Equestria, everything would die. Everything. Now this is a prime example of what i like to see in an Ultimate Evil villain. Everything about this Bagan screams evil perfection here, and i love everything about him. He's malevolent, cruel, vicious and brutal, he likes to manipulate and pull strings, he considers all other beings as worthless tools for his use, or to be killed eventually. He has no remorse for his evil, and no regards to anyone's life, for life to him is weak, mortal, fleeting. Fragile. And that death is final, eternal, and his realm. As demonstrated, he has the power to destroy entire worlds, though he chooses to leave some of it standing, or is thwarted from completing his destructive reign. He is practically all-powerful, as he can control the very forces of reality around him in order to shape worlds into dark reflections of his soul. He can access alternate worlds, and can send his influence into them. And he has the power to bend others to his will. But best of all, he's a master manipulator who lurks in the shadows, and lets his minions do his work for him, until he reaches full power where expectedly he will take center stage. I always find interest in villains who are silhouetted, and are given build up to their reveal. I find that it helps to establish the evil kind of monster they will be, and it gives us a sense of fear-fear of the unknown-as to what we expect to come from the villain. It worked for Dr Claw, Firelord Ozai, and G1 Tirek, and it definitely works here. Bagan of the Tarbanto universe, as i like to call it, is the absolute greatest version of Bagan to ever have been written, and i enjoy every moment of when he appears in the story. I look forward to when the next chapter of "The Bridge" comes out, and i look forward to seeing more of Bagan. Because for a scrapped kaiju, Bagan is potentially one of the greatest kaiju villain ever made, and is one of my absolute favorites even now. I look forward to the day he finally gets his well deserved recognition, and gets featured in something. Either way, here's to an epic kaiju of destructive proportions, and the potential Dragon God of Destruction. Cheers!
And that finishes up what i thought of the mighty Bagan. If you have anything you'd like to add to this, then feel free to speak to me in the comments below. I'd love as always to hear your thoughts on what i had to say. But either way, i hope you enjoy what i've done here, and as always, i'll see you guys in the next segment. Bye!

Ah, well wasn't this a pleasant find
Thanks a lot for so much in-depth review! I'm honored, though I would also like to credit my great co-creators Faith-Wolff and Skylark8756 for helping me come up with a lot of the story plots and ideas.

Yesyesyes, thank you! Oh, thank god, i was hoping i'd get your attention! Thank you very much for noticing me. And i'm glad you like it cause this is as much a tribute as it is a personal review. Especially since by far, your depiction of Bagan is the best i've ever seen by far, and he's everything i ever hoped to see in him. And i'm glad that you made him as you did, because he's the best there is.

You flatter my
And I'm grinning like an idiot over it. This is definitely a proud-papa moment for me regarding my version.
Oh, just to clear up some factoid (and give a minor bit of info in thanks for all this), the Amalgam Universe Bagan I created originally was the three creatures that composed the totem version; Enjin, Doragon, and Mizu. When they fused together, they became the being that eventually was dubbed Bagan. Basically they bypassed the totem form and fused into the later version KaijuSamurai and others based their designs off of. This fusion occurred in the late Permian period, about 190 million years before the Ghidorah brothers attacked at the end of the Cretaceous. Bagan, his three base forms (called Aspects) included, is the oldest living being on the planet at over 300 million years old.

Oh gosh, that's cool.
I'm very glad i could make you pleased overe this. I was hoping to do that anyway, and i'm glad to see i succeeded.
Wow. So Bagan was sort of a primordial force. A being forged from 3 mysterious creatures to become the future dark god. So i guess he really does precede the divine moths then. And i guess it does give some clarity to his origin. Though it makes me wonder what the aspects are/were, and how they born. Unless they simply came into being with the rest of the universe, like those mythological deities i've read of. But at least i understand how he can manifest them other than simply being aspects of his soul: he simply unleashes the literal pieces of himself as constructs to carry out his will. Now he just reminds me of Master Xehanort as well. Either way, this is some interesting info you gave me, and i'm glad you could appreciate what i did here. Thank you very much, buddy, cause it means a whole lot, and now i'm glad i did it.

Indeed. In the Amalgam universe timeline, the first Mothra and Battra came into existence from the planet's mana (basically Terra's magic lifeforce) during the Cretaceous period. The Aspects predate them by a long shot, and as the world's original defenses, they are sort of the prototypes to Mothra and Battra. This gives us a sort of line of succession. The Aspects became Reijuu (he was later redubbed Bagan). Mothra and Battra were created as his successors to help him in his task. Then, when Reijuu became Bagan and went rogue, Mothra and Battra (plural for both at the time) had to seal him away. With the world now much more vulnerable, more protectors were created. This time it was the ancient civilizations took it upon themselves to do this, with Anguirus being the prototype and others like Gamera and Yonggary following. This action in turn caused the last Battra to go rogue and in the ensuing chaos, every last ancient civilization was destroyed before he was stopped. Terra was left scarred, both by a major extinction event, loss of many protectors, as well as most of the world's mana and magic being depleted so badly it'll take a long, long time to replenish. The last of mankind had to very slowly (due to magic being near completely gone) rebuild and harness much more unstable energy sources. Flash into the 1940s and an energy form akin to highly unstable magic is used, eventually leading to the first Godzilla.
All of this calamity both directly and indirectly caused by Bagan, the fact he plans to do this to other worlds in addition to finishing the job on Terra, his beyond ancient status, and ever growing powers were my way of trying to make him something totally new. At this point he's unlike any creature or life form that has ever existed, making him more like an Lovecraftian eldritch abomination than just another kaiju. Just as Lucifer in popular fiction isn't just 'a fallen angel', he's THE devil; Amalgam Universe Bagan isn't just 'a kaiju', he's THE monster.

Very nice. So if anything, it sounds like they born at the same time as the earth itself, which makes Bagan's ancient aspect all the more plausible. So I guess around the time the Ghidorah's arrived, Terra decided that Reijuu, as you name him, needed help, and also someone to continue his mission if anything happens. After all, one never knows what can happen in time. Course it had to happen when he took the name Bagan, and decided to be a god of destruction. Though from what I know of him, and considering what he did to Terra, the divine moths were only barely able to beat him, so it must've been a long and hard battle. But it seems as if it might've been close to a pyric victory, since earth lost its strongest protector, and humanity was almost driven to extinction. But then Battra had to get all hissy about humanity creating the five guardians, and practically finish Bagan's work for him. Guess even though it was necessary, Battra just couldn't accept humanities tampering with nature anymore, so he basically wiped humanity before it eventually came back. And I guess considering all the damage it received, the loss of the old guard, and the fact that aside from creating new guardians, it probably took whatever mana/magic was left to heal it, I'm not surprised the earth eventually ended up as it is now: a weakened, dismal world with very little to go by. But at least there was enough to restore humanity, even if they start screwing things up, and go right back to tampering with nature. And if anything, from how it's been described in the story, I'd say that Nuclear energy is an artificial form of Raw Magic, the most ferocious but also potent form there is. but then again, if humans hadn't been messing with nuclear energy, we wouldn't have gotten the mighty guardians we have now, AKA Junior and the other earth defenders. Guess that's one good thing they accomplished with their arrogance of nature.
Well, if anything I'd say you succeeded in making him more than what he was conceived as originally, and now he's better than ever before. Oh yes, I see he is no simple monster, or force of nature like any of the other kaiju, even including King Ghidorah himself. He seems just like what you said: and eldritch, demonic monstrosity who exists solely to kill, destroy, corrupt and control lesser beings, and to spread evil, death, and destruction to everything he is, which would basically be the multiverse itself. A lovecraftian horror of the most heinous, most wonderfully delicious, but absolutely diabolical kind. And yes, he brings the very definition of the word to light. Now, if anything, he now has a place among all the dark godlike demon's of lore that have existed for as long as stories have been around. My definition of an absolute evil.

And the potential God of Destruction that rules over everything evil. One reason why Tarbano's version is my favorite conception-wise, while Neo is my favorite Design-wise, and Endgame being height-wise, though Kaijudude gets a few points conceptional-wise, too.

Those are all great. I had a version of Bagan where he was created by an ancient civilization as their gaurdian. But he became too powerful and was sealed away. His "tomb" was eventually discovered in the present with the warning (translasted mind you ) written on the doors saying "Here lies death never to be awakened." Of course the tomb is opened and needless to say all hell breaks loose...

Sounds good. But then again, i'm a sucker for the idea of Bagan being a fallen guardian who was once a protector, but then became a force of evil. And i definitely think he serves well as a primary evil. Or to put it simply, the Unicron or Trigon of the series.

Indeed buddy
Of course his actions gain Godzilla's attention and Godzilla, being the guardian of humanity he is at this point, proceeds to battle him.

Thank you.
But as we know, Bagan is all but impossible to defeat. And Godzilla is no match for him they way he is. Which is why i also enjoy when he becomes Super Godzilla through some means, usually mystical, in order to face him. Though i also like the idea that it takes everyone to beat him, since he doesn't strike me as the enemy that can go down so easily just because Godzilla gets that power up. No, it should take a combined effort of the ones who guard the earth, and their combined power to eventually overcome him. That's what makes for an epic final battle with Bagan.

That's how I envisioned the battle as well. All of Earth's monsters unite and after a long and grueling battle, Mothra and Battra collect the spiritual energy of everyone and give to Godzilla to destroy Bagan forever. Boom

Yep. Matt definitely had the right idea about that. And now it seems to be the best, and most fitting way to have a battle with Bagan. Though i'm also a fan of Godzilla getting his super form viasome mystical item like the Nova Core. It gives it a much more interesting, and divine feel to it. Like fighting dark magic with benign magic. If anything, it just seems fitting.

If I have to take a wild Guess, Bagan from Tarbtano Fic would have a Height of around 180 meters as well like from Daizua123 's story judging from how he Literally looks down on King and Kaizer Ghidorah, the Legion Queen, Slattern and Stand against the Shadow of RED (Who's at least 150-180 meters tall) on equal footing and will probably be even bigger if (or ounce) he reaches Full Power

Yep, correct and nice work noticing the Red comparison.
I'll confirm that Bridge's Bagan is indeed roughly 175-185 meters tall when standing completely upright.

Maybe. Or maybe he reaches that height once he gets his full power. After all, he's already insanely powerful enough to deal with the kaiju you mentioned. So it would make sense that he could also change his size to match. After all, as an endgame villain, i only picture him as a monlith of destructive power that requires everyone to beat. But we'll have to wait and see, since the story still has a long way to go.

Yeah, Bagan....
I like the concept and some of the execution, but sometimes, I feel he's a bit overrated.

Perhaps. But it's the concept, and the idea that makes him so interesting. And it's what makes him so well made in certain stories like the one's i talked about. You just gotta know where to look.

Which is why i enjoy him. Especially in the story tarbano made with him as the ultimate evil. As far as concepts, and characterizations go, he's my absolute favorite of all. Though KaijuSamurai will always win for having my favorite design of him, i can promise you that.

Personally, he's not really a favorite of me, but I can see why people would like him. Of course, considering someone blocked me from their page because I tend to do a "Bagan is Overrated" routine, I'm definitely got a somewhat tainted outlook on the character, though I think that's more from the obsessed fanboys more than the kaiju character itself.

Don't worry, i understand. Even i've got a few characters i'm not all that fond of. But i've still got respect, and understanding for why others like them, though i won't say who they are. But if you feel as you do because of stupid fanboys, then i feel bad. I know that people who act like how you described can effectpeoples opinions in a negative way, so i can understand why you feel the way you do. Nobody wants to deal with people who aren't as interested in something they are, or having different opinions about that subject. It's annoying, i can tel ya that.

In Super Godzilla, Bagan easily towered over normal Godzilla, as demonstrated in this picture: i.ytimg.com/vi/o-B55jw1Nck/hqd…
He was also said to be bigger than Biollante, so I worked off of that

Oh believe me, I'm well aware of his size compared to those two. And I know he was already a behemoth. But I do love how you made him ENORMOUS, bigger than all of them together. If anything it's the same equivalent as the avengers/fantastic 4 fighting Galactus, or the Teen Titans fighting Trigon. It's a David vs Goliath battle of epic proportions.

Can't really blame them. After all, it's rare to see a kaiju THAT big existing somehow. But if anything, that just adds to the menace and destructive power of Bagan.

And Slattern (Pacific Rim) is as long as EndoBagan is tall

Oh, that's an interesting bit there.
