He possesses the exact same skills and prowess as the real Link and uses it to his advantage by mirroring and countering every single move his original counterpart makes.. It was for this reason that Link was forced to become stronger than before. It is unknown where exactly Dark Link comes from, whether he's a construct of Ganondorf to pit him in peril of irony or acts as some kind of force of nature acting as the ultimate challenge to Link. We'll ne'er know. All we know is, he's freakin' badass
