It's almost like my other Before/After Meme...But this time, it's a drawing without line from Dec. 2011 and Dec 2014.
My style is pretty inconsistant, but now, I like drawing both with lines and without
Proably because I do a full drawing without line each year at the end of the summer holidays /o/Which style do you prefer ?

i like the coloring and shading of the 2nd one,
but i prefer the anatomy (as in shape of the face, eyes, etc) of the 1st one

J'aime bien les deux... Le plus récent est plus contrasté (mon fléau, les contrastes) donc on va dire que ça donne un rendu un chouia plus maîtrisé, mais les 2 sont sympa.

Plus sérieusement, ouais, j'essaie contraster plus et de rendre tout ça moins fadasse (un des problèmes de la colo sous SAI : ça ternit parfois les couleurs à force de mélanger)

Je trouve pas ton style si inconstant que ça, on sent bien ta patte ^^
En tout cas le second a plus de contraste, le volume et la lumière sont mieux rendus. Il a l'air plus ancré dans le réel que le premier je trouve

Haha, ce n'est même pas forcément par choix... Par exemple, les dessins tradi, surtout crayonnés, ne ressemblent pas forcément au illus digitales (Même si ça se rapproche récemment)

The progress you've made with color value and shading has gone up, but your old style is fine the way it is also. If you were to put as much detail in your old style as the new you, you could still be drawing like that and get good results.

Well, I wouldn't call it an "old" and "new" style... I'm basically drawing both at the same time...
It's just that the result is strangely far apart with and without line. I guess I try to compensate the lack of line by detailing more while colouring

More specifically, I'm meaning to say "then" and "now", although it is still current. The idea of these before and after picture memes is to demonstrate improvement, and while there is improvement, I don't see it as a lack for the former.
And yes, if you are going to take away lines, color value becomes much more important, because you need to be able to differentiate volume, distance, and density without lines.

Anyway, recently, I'm trying to add more volume even when I draw with lines, so that it doesn't look that flat (even if cell-shading looks really nice)
