This is the first picture I drew and shared with others. Actually probably the first picture I drew with a kaiju using digital means. It took me a couple of hours to finish it, and I was listening shanties while drawing, to get in the mood hehehe. It shows an encounter of an unlucky whalers and Umibozu. A few years ago, I attempted to do art for Skeletor-Sans monster but it didn't come out right. I took inspiration from another source and attempted a newer version.

Unfortunately due to sculptris constraints, I wasn't able to give the design the uneven appearance I felt it needed, but I feel the look over all is ok.

Ah so you're Skeletor-san, it's a shame what happened to the game and Umibozu. I would have loved to see him in it. Your work actually partially inspired a kaiju I've been developing as my take on an Umibozu kaiju. It's going to be featured as one of the villain kaiju in a series of books I am writing.

Now this is an awesome looking Umibozu. I've always been interested in these things, mythical monsters just have that certain charm to them. Especially the aquatic ones... which honestly worry me the most out of any other monsters. XD

It is. It was based on the first encounters with a certain species of an octopus. in the water people mistook it for a monk, thinking it was living underwater and that it would pull them down to the depths.

Pretty creepy looking. The illustration itself does have a pretty nice overall style to it. Very scary. On a side note it kinda reminds me of that ghost robot that is in the fifth episode of the anime Big O (giant robots fighting haha).
