Actually, if anything, Legendary just wanted to have Godzilla be the equivalent of a walking building. Toho just saw that as a challenge when really it shouldn't have even existed.Β

In the darkest reaches of the underground, Godzilla Jr could sense something. He still had no idea what it was that called him, but through the Nova Core, he knew it wasn't a threat. It was something..........ancient. Powerful. Grand. A force of nature beyond anything he had felt before. And somehow, it was tied in with the primordials. So, with the authority of a leader, he spoke to the presence which lay out of sight, yet remained so near.
"Whoever you are - whatever you are - i can feel your presence through the Nova Core. And i can feel it inside that......you are a force of balance, just like me. If so, then i-....WE need your help. The Shadow of Evil has returned, and Bagan himself threatens all of the realms as he did before. As i speak, he's attacking with the largest attack force we've ever faced against. The Avatars themselves lead the charge, and.........i don't know how much longer we can stand against them. I know you've been helping somehow. You were the one who guided me here. And i think it's for the reasons i suspect. Which is why i ask you-...no, i order you: help us now, in our time of need."
And out of that darkness, a single light appeared. Godzilla was unsure of what it was, but the same instincts told him to go to it. Whatever was there, would no doubt be the key to what would save his friends. And sure enough, there was a massive sac, similar to biollante's, which resembled a massive heart. A single light shined from it, symbolizing that while it was alive, it was not fully constituted. Godzilla knew that was what he was here for. And so it was that he called upon the Nova Core's power to revive this ancient force.Β
That was when the chamber shook, and a white light stripped him of his vision.
Outside, the mountains that made up part of Tokyo's region began to shake. And the landscape itself began to shake with it. Dozens of Antilocks, and Trilopods scattered across this mountain were the unfortunate ones as the earth itself began to split. The earth defenders, humans, and ultras who had been fighting watched in awe of this monumental spectacle. But as the minutes passed, all who stood across that great battlefield, be they human, kaiju, Darkling, or Avatar, were witness to something no living soul had seen in eons.
A massive figure slowly began to emerge from the mountainside, causing numerous Antilocks, Trilopods, and land-based Gyaos, to fall down off of it. Airborne Trilopods, Gyaos, and Ghidorans, swarmed in the air as they saw a titanic form begin to rise. A massive tail flipped out of the forest, and slammed into hordes of Darklings, and Trilopods next to it. But after a while, and after much debris had fallen off, the titanic figure was revealed: a titan bearing a similar form to a Gojirin. But this one seemed as if it were made of stone itself, and was far more thick in mass than those before. And 3 rows of jagged spikes lined along its back down to its tail. And in its hand was Godzilla, who was also quite in awe of this spectacle he had helped bring about. Pretty soon, he was face to face with this titanic being. Its mouth was also jagged, and stone-like. And the bright, yellow orbs which were its eyes shined down upon him. And its deep, powerful voice echoed with wisdom, and power none had ever truly experienced for an age.

Well that but I still feel that 300 meters is a bit excessive. That said though I am more lenient here then with Shin because it has been confirmed on both Godzilla Wikis that Godzilla in the Anime universe started off as 50 meters tall and he's been growing in size for the 20,000 years. That I can buy into a little more then Shin Godzilla jumping from 57 meters (I think) in his 3rd form to 118 meters so quickly.

Yeah, that's kinda the problem I had with ShinGoji. I can buy into the fact he was constantly evolving as a means of adaptation, but they really showcase how that happened. They could've at least built up his evolution from Stage 3 and gave us a moment of him transforming and growing in size. Hell, maybe showΒ him how he got that big by having him feed off the nuclear waste that brought him into existence in the first place. For all the complaints Godzilla '14 got from people, at least it followed the basic principle of film-making: Show. Don't tell.Β

I agree. And while part of me still thinks that Toho (or at least some of the guys who work at Toho) are doing it because they're trying to make Monsterverse Godzilla look puny, like "NO! America's Godzilla cannot be bigger then ours! It is an insult!"
