Godzilla and San have a lot of things in common when you really think about it. They both have a score to settle with humankind.San: Left behind by her birth parents so they could save their own skins when confronted by Moro (the wolf goddess) and raised to hate humankind who were enroaching on her home: The forest of the Shinigami.
Godzilla (at least the Heisei version): Left for dead by American and Japanese soldiers as a Godzillasaurus and was mutated by the H-Bomb testings.
