Interesting that the Monsterverse Goji's atomic breath changes in each movie. It looks as if its getting stronger as movies go.
In 2014, it looked like the the first few Showa movies atomic breath where its more like extremely hot vapor or steam in a fiery shape. In the novelization, the MUTOs EMP wasn't allowing him to use his atomic breath which makes sense, but never shown in the movie. I also heard its more of a last resort and that it wasn't at its fullest since Goji was tired and beaten up.
In 2019, it still has the fiery shape, but more powerful than 2014. This time, his head glows than just the dorsal spines.
Currently in 2021, its definitely more powerful. Its now more of a laser beam than a fire breath. At first I thought it could be a certain Mechanized Titan since the atomic breath was more laser than fire which i thought the creators were going to keep it with his design from KOTM. But now I'm thinking it just got more powerful and focused hence the atomic ray now. Keep in mind, this is only from what I saw in the 1st trailer so i might update this once the movie comes out.
Update 4/16/2021: Godzilla VS Kong is out and its interesting because it looks like a laser in wide shots but in close-ups shots it looks like a fiery laser.

In case you're wondering, yes i will draw some Godzilla VS Kong related posts like Kong with his battle axe, Nozuki/Warbat, Kong fighting Godzilla with the battle axe, the Mechanized Titan, etc. after I see movie when it comes out Mar 31. In fact i'll draw kaiju art again since i said i stopped drawing kaiju art after Monster March 2020 until GvK comes out. Well now its coming soon and i can draw kaijus again.
