Description
Set immediately after the events of Godzilla vs Megaguirus, Godzilla is back and on the rampage. There's nothing left that can stop the monster, until a visitor from another dimension is pulled through to hopefully do what no one else can...end Godzilla's reign of terror for good! It's the King of the Monsters vs. The Guardian of the Universe!Godzilla © Toho Studios
Gamera © Daiei Motion Picture Company
Story and artwork © Sam Messerly (me)
This is a fan work.
The comic was drawn traditionally using mechanical pencil (sketching), Precise Rolling Ball v5 Extra Fine (lineart), and Sharpie marker (for panel frames). Afterwards, I scanned it and then I used Adobe Photoshop Elements in order to do the grayscale shading.

And it was vastly easier to draw than it was to wear as a suit XD

It went along nicely with my costume theme for the parade, too, call it a little self plug I know some fans don't like fantasy elements in Godzilla over sci-fi elements, but I'm a fan of both so I just said to heck with it anyway. Makes the ending more satisfying for me as the author, and you as the author should always write what YOU want to see, not panhandle to your audience just to have it liked more.

i like the fantasy elemets combined with sci fi cause it really makes godzilla seem more totally unstoppable with other than taking big hits but never backing down from his opponents. and it keeps you thinking "is godzilla's origin completely an ancient dinosaur awakened by atomic explosion or is he a godlike creature with power increased by atomic power" i think that last one is what some people think idk which is it they think?

I always liked the idea of Godzilla being more than just a monster, especially since the natives of Odo island in the first film touted him as being a god-like creature demanding virgin sacrifices. The "force of nature" mystique to him, and all. Depending on the story, it's just nice to give him that spiritual edge like some ancient dragon of Japanese lore. I understand not everyone likes to think of Godzilla that way, but for this story it the best way I could think of to end the story and trying to keep Godzilla and Gamera as equal as possible. Thanks for the read
