This is a brand new acquisition and it surprised the heck out of me because the last place I expected to find Neca brand Godzilla figures was at my local Wal-Mart, but apparently those stores have begun putting in adult collector sections to their entertainment areas including NECA products, so they had some of the Godzilla figures from the Toho series, and since it's just about the Big G's 65th birthday I thought why not buy a nice figure of him I didn't have from the original film.
It's not a bad figure at all, it's bulky and has good weight to it, and this re-release version comes with the fire breath as well which nicely plugs into the back of his throat. The only issue with this toy is one of paint, the black and white looks great but unfortunately if you look at him from the front he's very derped, kinda like he's trying to look at a fly on his nose, or at his own fire breath I guess It has a funny effect of making him look dopey rather than intimidating, so the best angle really is from this side profile. It's a simple fix and if I ever feel the need I'll go back and repaint the eyes myself, though the goofy eye position may endear itself to me. Other than that though if you can find one without the eye error it's a really solid toy and I feel one of the best of NECA's classics line.
