Rita Repulsa was once a good and powerful queen of an ancient super advanced race of humans that lived alongside the dinosaurs 80 mya. But all that changed when her adopted son,Kai, was killed by a dinosaur when it caught him breaking her eggs, and Rita sold her soul to the then, ultimate evil Lokar in exchange for the power to destroy the dinosaurs, but great Barza intercepted her and she had Lokar attack the world's dinosaur destroying many of them,while she and her followers imprisoned barza in a pocket dimension. The power rangers were then formed and the greatest of the nobles of those ancient races imprisoned Rita, Finster,Goldar, Squatt, and Baboo in a canister and hid it in a high secluded mountain range. In 1992 explorers opened the container and Rita and her soldiers escaped and killed the two men and rebuilt their headquarters where she would stike out at all the world with her monsters and kaiju but the rangers had been put under a state of suspended animation in knowledge that she would eventually escape and they manage to keep her at bay for a year and a half until she is overthrown by the interdimesional warlord Lord Zedd but she places him under a love spell and the two are married and a mutual love developes between the two terrors. Rita has powerful magic that only grew when she consumed dead Lokar's energy when he was killed by the Ultrazord after the battle with Cyclposis,though powerful she is ill-tempered and impatient and over eager to blame arounf her for her mistakes she and Zedd are under the thrall of Spacegodzilla who they both hate and fear.

- her scepter can expel blasts of evil energy that are powerful enough to fell the Megazord, it also can make her monsters into giants

- she can breathe fire and powerful winds

- numerous black magic spells

- can open alternate dimensions
