Description
The group of esk finally find themselves outside of the cave they had entered a while, both parties coming out of different exists and being overjoyed that they are back together.
They tell each other what they experienced and start to think about how long it has been since their journey started and how much fun they have had. The sun was setting and the stars came out. The canyon valley they overlooked seemed so mysterious and they felt that the magic that haunted this place is starting to fade. They felt a bit of sadness knowing that this journey was now over, but they would never forgot it.
While looking over the cliffs they noticed lanterns suddenly taking off into the night sky. Deep down they knew this was a last sign of the magic, a farewell. The light of the lanterns was so far away, but yet it felt so warming and comforting, the esk just knew it was a sign and what the magic was telling. Each one of them concentrated on a different lantern and made a wish.
After that, the lanterns flew higher and higher, until you couldn't tell them apart from the stars anymore.
The group spend the rest of the night together and one last time talked about all the things that had happened to them, from the cacti that wouldn't stop sprouting fruit and turned into a maze, to the keyhole game they had all failed, and to the two cave tunnels they found themselves in.
The sun started to rise and each esk felt a call back to their biome.
All of them were sad to say goodbye, but they knew they now share a bond and could always meet again and they would definitely do so!
Veil, was relieved that their weird adventure seemed to have ended.
While he did take a liking to Mahali he could not stand Bunji and Uluru and was happy when the two left quickly as some stupid bug caught their attention.
He enjoyed the adventure in his own way, but he'll enjoy having his peace again even more after everyone is gone. Tilting his head up to Mahali he thanked her for help clearing up the mystery but told her it is time to hastily leave. A freshwater esk really shouldn't be hanging out in the desert too long. Mahali squinted her eyes, giving her the expression of smirking. "you're quite something, I like that. I'm sure we will cross paths again some day."
Mahali ran off and Veil was left alone in her boundary again. For a moment Veil almost felt a bit sad, but that feeling was instantly buried by the happiness of finally being alone again.
Whew, finally all the prompts done of this story : D
It was quite the journey but also so much fun and I'm so happy I was able to take my esk on this journey.
Looking forward to see what the future hold for them!
