Description
(Something nice and quick!)MIKI SAEGUSA
Height - 5 ft. 1 in.
Mass - 40 kilos
Bio - One of the prodigies of the ESP Research Institute circa 1989, MIKI SAEGUSA was contracted by G-Force as part of their think-tank to find new ways to combat both GODZILLA and whatever kaiju crawled out of the woodwork. Admittedly, they were throwing ideas at the wall here just to see what would stick, and nobody anticipated the privately-and-donation-funded ESPRI to actually turn anything of value around (most saw it as a big scam). However, it wasn't until Miki actually FOUGHT Godzilla that everyone started to take her real damn seriously.
Granted, her battle with Godzilla was entirely in the realm of the mind. Her mission was to stall Godzilla for as long as she could, while the city of Osaka was evacuated and made ready as a battlefield against the King of Kaiju.
Miki later recounted the battle...after she regained consciousness.
As Godzilla reached Osaka channel, the water became shallow, and he noticed the tiny speck upon the helicopter platform not far from him. His attention was drawn to this tiny mammal, who should absolutely have been beneath his notice. Miki reached into his mind, probing, trying to find...well, ANYTHING of value. And what she found, she stated, was chaos. Anger, frustration, a burning desire to reclaim what he perceived to be his territory, his home. But beneath all of that, she detected something else.
Before she could pull back that veil, however, Godzilla became aware of her, feeling her in his mind, violating his most intimate space. Godzilla's feelings, as Saegusa described it, were not complex, but he brought his willpower against her, forcing her out of his mind. The psychic blowback was so immense that it knocked her completely unconscious. Godzilla, roaring in a display of dominance (almost in an obligatory way...he certainly felt no real pride in such a simple act), continued towards his battle in Osaka.
Saegusa, in a debriefing at G-Force, noted that Godzilla, had he wanted to, could have killed her through shear force of will. Yet she described it as more like being hit by a truck that wasn't going full speed. There was SO much strength in his will that she recommended no one EVER try it again, because if they did, Godzilla would most certainly obliterate their minds without even realizing it.
It wasn't until years later, after once or twice more connecting with Godzilla's mind, that she realized what she felt deep beneath his fury and strife...it was loneliness.
Abilities/Aspects -
- Superb psychic abilities, grows stronger with training
- Able to move objects through telekinesis
- Can sense Godzilla's movements from hundreds of miles
- Actively sought out by the Shobijin as an emissary of Mothra.

Rare is the human character in a Godzilla story that we actually care about. Rarer still are any that appear in multiple films. Miki may be the only one who actually fits both.
Excellent work!

Ehh, would've preferred Captain Gordon or Lieutenant Gondo, but the way you did Miki was at least interesting.

Quite possibly the most famous human character in the Godzilla series, and one of my favorites. She was a babe. Great job.

YES! Thank you Matt. Happy to see Miki! And the bio itself is interesting. Man, don't mess with the Will of the King. Holy crap... There's a new definition of Godzilla's willpower in my book.

Ah yes, Miki Saegusa!
She is certainly my favorite of any human character in the Godzilla series...Though I admit, she was kinda whiny in Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla.

Well you gotta give her credit, She was having a telepathic battle with Godzilla WHILE Spacegodzilla was sending telepathic surges throughout the world AND she was kidnapped and shot at... It was a rough time for her... I Just PRAY that it also wasn't "That time of the month" for her either...

Do you remember the scene Godzilla vs Gigan where Godzilla and Anguirus actually have some dialogue between them, or in Ghidorah the Three-headed Monster where Rodan, Godzilla, and Mothra are talking with Mothra trying to convince Godzilla and Rodan to save Earth from Ghidorah? Yeah, I'd say Godzilla and the other kaiju are sapient.

that is because thsoe shows were msotly for kids, those movies. personally i wish their next films have the neo edge. have a bit more realistic swing to it. which is why i liked zilla from the movie in a sense, a bit more real. while it was missnamed by msot opinion, had we given the mosnter another name, i am pretty sure most people owuld like the movie more.

I agree with you completely on that. I always I enjoy Godzilla 1998 as it's own movie, but as it a Godzilla film it ill compares to anything Toho has put out. It's not a bad movie by any means, just a bad Godzilla.

I agree with you in the sense that those movies were toned down a bit for the kids, but Godzilla has always been a sentient creature. The radiation that mutated him didnt just make him big and strong, it sped up his evolution(for the record i dont believe in the theory of evolution) It made him an entirely new creature. Godzilla holds a grudge against mankind for what they did to him but he is also willing to protect them for the greater good. Any non sentient creature would probably run off after some of the beatings he's taken but Godzilla endures.

Damn it! I hate when this happens. When did this become an argument about God vs evolution? I was just talking Godzilla for God's sake!

.....it is one thing to believe in aliens, and to believe in god. it is a matter of want or farith respectively. and there is enough mystery in the world to have faith.
we kind of blew the shit out of eden when we found out what fossils really are. there i sno way to deny evolution, like someone is religious cannot deny god itself. however you may need only adapt your views. perhaps eden was metaphysical, and adam and eve were not the first humans, but the first human souls.

True, but then in Godzilla vs Mothra Battle for Earth, the Shobijin did tellthem what Mothra and Battra were talking about (about the meteor Battra was supposed to destroy) so that still lends credence to the possibility of Kaiju being sapient.

well if you think about it he is the only member of his kind and thanks to mankind dropping the bomb changing him forever he was truly alone in the world were everyone wants to either kill him or control him.
