Description
(more on the insectoid side....kinda' a celebration of Godzilla: UnleashedGoddess of Peace
MOTHRA
Body Length: 35 meters
Wingspan: 110 meters
Mass: 15,000 metric tons
Type 2 - Warrior Class
Bio:
MOTHRA is considered by many to be just another kaiju, marked for either destruction or capture, but an equal amount see the giant insect as something much, MUCH more...
She is renowned as being something of a benevolent creature, as 1961 could be considered the first and only time Mothra made an all-out, aggressive march across Japan, cocooning herself on Tokyo Tower and transforming from Larval stage to Imago stage, where those on the ground described her rebirth as "like some otherworldly angel rising above we shameful creatures". Other times, Mothra has appeared to fend off more violent kaiju, not the least of which being Godzilla himself.
Interestingly, Mothra seems to have taken a particular interest in the mutant dinosaur, and one would even go so far as to say she sees a sense of responsibility for the monster, as the Shobijin once implied.
Mothra is obviously more intelligent than most kaiju, to which no human can comprehend. The Shobijin, who have become something between celebrities and diplomats, state that "Mothra is as old as rock and as young as flowers, and her wisdom knows no bounds." What this means exactly is debatable.
Mothra has been revered as nothing less than "The Goddess of Peace," and after her appearence, a group of both Rolisicans and Japanese gathered and established the "Children of Mothra" in 1966. Since then, it has been declared an official religion in Japan, England, Australia, France, California and New York, and severely illegal in most of the United States and the Middle East.
Mothra is the Yin to the Yang of the dreaded Battra.
Abilites/Aspects (larvae):
- Web-like silk used as both a cocoon and as a deterrent for enemies
- Surprisingly durable, can withstand some conventional weaponry
- Poisonous gas emitted from glands under body, can cause even Godzilla to become dizzy
Abilities/Aspects (imago):
- Collosal wing span creates gale-force winds
- Can fire concentrated bursts of energy from antennae
- Most abilites are defensive, such as reflective scales which can bounce back even Godzilla's heat ray
- Can spread a calming mist/powder that can both heal and pacify
NOTE: Mothra is EXTREMELY protective of the Shobijin. After the 1961 Incident, she has created "Fairy Mothra" to be the Shobijin's personal body-guard as they travel the world.

As long as its not Mechagodzilla. HE HAS NO REASON and should not be in the Legendary Godzilla series.Β

Given how the Legendary universe is a more realistic universeΒ (I realize the irony of that statement) we might not see Mechagodzilla.
Although now that the film's previously 'realistic' universe now has a huge fantastic element more fantastic concepts might come to play (almost like Man of Steel) and because Guillelmo Del Toro wants a crossover between Godzilla and Pacific Rim...who knows.

I wouldnt want that, I prefer to see more of the Primortials...thats what they are, not Kaiju or Monsters, Primortials, there older then dinosaurs.
Ghidorah would be the best.Β

Ghidorah, Anguirus, and Kiryu are my favorite monsters. If transformers can have Grimlock, then why can't Godzilla have Kiryu? And all they would need to introduce it is that they wanted to be prepared in case a kaiju too strong for Godzilla attacked!

One of the few daikaiju that has that aura of true mystery about it; I think she's occasionally referred to as a mutant, but I prefer the concept of her being a goddess, or a mystic force of the cosmos. That way, her being the de facto peacekeeper between the other kaiju makes more sense: Where Godzilla, a product of man science, is the embodiment of rage and destruction; Mothra, an avatar of nature, is the embodiment of peace.

Why and how is Mothra's religion illegal in the U.S.? We have freedom of religion as one of the basic human rights in the Constitution.

Maybe the White House thinks worshipping a giant monster is no better than worshipping Satan.
Satanism's illegal too, right?

Nope, ALL religions are legal, according to the First Amendment. Why would Satanism be an exception?

Well, I'd think the goat-sacrificing would overlap with a few other laws. Though I'm not sure if that's true and is just stereotypical, but I'm also not sure I should really care because, hey, Satanists. Devil-worshippers. Lovers of all things evil.

Okay, Mothra is pretty cool and your artwork is great. The only thing I have against Mothra is that she has those two little asian chicks who are always side ring for the fights and there to translate what the monsters are saying. It's during those moments where I am thinking, shut up and start fighting. Awesome work!!!

I especially like how you interpreted the larva form, but it seems to me like there's not much one can do to change a moth.

-Mothra to Varan.
To me, Mothra is just like Terra Brandford From Dissidia Final Fantasy, also with the same voice actor. She is Godzilla's girlfriend, but also probably the only friend of Megalon, whom she has some feelings for.

I get what the Shobijin said. Mothra is as old as rock and as young as flowers, and her wisdom knows no bounds. It simply means she's very smart, her kind is as old as rock but her current self is as young as a flower.
