First, I'm not trying to change anyone or anything's names. Secondly, please, don't be so immature that you make up your own conclusions before you know the truth. I certainly don't hate the Japanese Godzilla, on the contrary, I love the Japanese Godzilla, but I also love the American Godzilla. I'm giving both creatures just as much love because I'm a fan of both and I grew up with both, and I'm being fair to both creatures, although I prefer the American Godzilla and I also grew up mostly with that creature. But don't make up such lies as your childish claim that I "hate" a creature. Grow up, my friend.

I know the truth. We all do. We've concluded you're a Zilla fantroll. :3 Yes you do, your Facebook page says so. LOL, you do? Unlikely. Gino*. Fair isn't quite the word. What lies? More like fact.
You're such a try hard, it's hilarious! Grow the fuck up fantroll. Kiddies aren't allowed on the internet.

Pellchinnn In reply to MechanicOrga [2013-05-26 21:55:20 +0000 UTC]
You know your own truth, kid. Why don't you try growing up instead of attacking people like an angry little child? Also, your insults in your comment were a little dry, I take it your imagination doesn't go that far.

MechanicOrga In reply to Pellchinnn [2013-05-26 22:04:45 +0000 UTC]
Kid? Says the 14 year old. I'm the one attacking people? List 5 people I've "attacked". What insults? I consider them to be suggestive gestures. If you believe the American Godzilla is better then obviously your imagination doesn't go that far either. Oh, and by the way, I actually draw art as opposed to bitching about renaming Gino.

Pellchinnn In reply to MechanicOrga [2013-05-26 22:14:11 +0000 UTC]
I'm 14 now? Not that I have any idea how you got to that conclusion but okay. The fact that I call you a kid is because of your evident childish behaviour. You're attacking me, it's no rocket science to realize that. "People" doesn't necessarily mean several persons, it can also be a metaphor. I have no idea if you have attacked anyone else but It wouldn't surprise me if you have. To think that the American Godzilla is better has nothing to do with imagination at all, my friend. Try to improve your reasoning. You draw art? As do I, but I don't upload it to the internet. And of course I'm trying to be more nice and have a more adult behaviour and reasoning as opposed to bitching about how people disagree with you.

godzilla and zilla were created with the a atomic bomb, but godzilla is more fictician ( nothing can survive a river of magma or lava) and zilla was more realistic , it follows his instint as a animal and its resistance is too more real.
I dont mean that who is better, godzilla win for sure i only mean that they were created for diferent reason only that

Awesomeness360 In reply to serdelcielo [2013-05-15 12:09:54 +0000 UTC]
Godzilla IS realistic in terms of what he represents - NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST. Godzilla is the representation of our worst fear and sends a message of how a nuclear bomb can destroy the world. His invincibility, his atomic breath, his GOD-like figure all fits well on what he represents/symbolizes of how Godzilla is a force of nature and a nuclear terror that cannot be destroyed. Zilla, if anything, is far from the realism Godzilla represents.

serdelcielo In reply to Awesomeness360 [2013-05-15 12:46:20 +0000 UTC]
Nothing agaist what you say, i only said that if something is born of a nuclear bomb zilla is more real, i didnt say nothing about our fears or the realism, if i offend you sorry.
PD: i understand what you say, a nuclear bommb than can destroy the world is something to fear, but i dont believe that a living being born from that can have that power

Pellchinnn In reply to serdelcielo [2013-05-17 13:17:03 +0000 UTC]
I say the American Godzilla is more realistic, and I'm not saying this in terms of what the creatures may represent, but just how/what they simply, evidently are. The fact that the American Godzilla is so much more realistic and not so fantasy-like is partly why I love it. Anyway, great speech! Except I say American Godzilla wins for sure, just because.

...And this is what i keep trying to address in some of my correspondences - but noone listens.
At the end of the day, it's the purists in the fandom who do their part to ensure that the franchise continues to be stifled from expressing any degree of creative and artistic change whatsoever.

Meh, its just that i see stuff like the flamespam that occured in the last couple of days and i just feel frustrated by it - regadless of what people think, the toho and tri-star 'zillas are still equal in the franchise's canon, but the only vibe i got reading through those threads is a bunch of idiots preaching the same "jap godzy is better" speil as always -and if you don't follow their way of belief, you get trolled and derided by them.
It's people like that who box anyone who touches any ephemera related to Godzilla and a general whole into a corner like a bunch of cowards and keep the franchise from moving forward.
It may look like a fandom, but it's starting to feel more like a regime.

Hypershell In reply to aladasian [2013-05-16 02:09:01 +0000 UTC]
Look, the whole troll/harassment thing is uncalled for, obviously.
But whether it's creatively stifling to dismiss "Zilla", I think that kinda depends on how you define "better." They may be of equal validity in the canon but even Toho themselves regard Zilla as inferior on more than one count. The newer Mechagodzilla films claim the New York sightings of Godzilla to be false, not to mention how badly Zilla gets decimated in Final Wars.
And I gotta tell you, I think that Toho's treatment of Zilla was well deserved. I own the Tri-Star movie, I like it, but it really isn't "Godzilla". Not just the design (I certainly had no problem living with it in the cartoon series that followed), but thematically, they got him wrong. Zilla as presented in the '98 movie is a symbol of western arrogance. He's presented as "just an animal", and he dies in six missile shots, just as every western movie monster always gets killed. Godzilla generally steers clear of that cliche, outside of his 1954 original appearance. Godzilla, unlike Zilla, is more than simply a giant reptile. While his role varies all the way from defender of Earth to a spirit of death and vengeance, what remains constant about Godzilla is his borderline supernatural resilience, which in turn leads to the fact that humanity is left humbled, pretty much having to live with him whether they want to or not.

Pellchinnn In reply to Hypershell [2013-05-18 06:18:03 +0000 UTC]
First, I'd avoid mixing the Japanese films with the 1998 film, since they were never supposed to exist in the same universe nor do they go by the same timeline/storyline. And the Millenium series was pretty screwed up (probably because it was a response to the 1998 film), not like the earlier Heisei series masterpieces. The Heisei films, the 1954/56 film and the 1998 film are my all time favourites just because of how much more serious, entertaining and respectful they are. These films deserves honour, and not like the disgraceful Millenium films. I like the Millenium films as I like all Godzilla films, but it is one of the worst series of films. This making them, in my opinion, some of the best Godzilla films to date. I think Toho's treatment of the American Godzilla was unecessary and childish, and this making me lose respect for Toho. I of course own the 1998 film too, but who owns it or not is irrelevant.
I love the film, and to me it can't be anything else than Godzilla. It's just another interpretation of the character. To make it just another kaiju in the Japanese Godzilla world is just wrong, it just feeds bullies and bad people who exaggerates and hates too much, it is like if Toho gave permission for people to behave and become even more bad. I cannot agree on that Godzilla '98 is a symbol of western arrogance, it is more a symbol of goodness, understanding and masterpiece entertainment, at least for those who can see it. We need to understand the world, we need to understand mother nature, and we certainly need to understand each other.
To present him as just an animal was awesome, not only did it give the creature character, it made it believable and lovable/gracious, and it didn't feed bad people and bullies. The American Godzilla stood for something good, while bad and arrogant people are trying to take it down to their level. Also, Godzilla '98 died from twelve missiles and a broken heart. And then, at the end of my reply, I redirect you to aladasian's reply to you.
