I was referring specifically to a monster character named Zmey Gorynych of Slavic mythology that there was not a Slavic dragon at random ... and this one in particular was tricefaleo (three heads).

By the way, we also can not rule out that those who created the King Ghidorah in some way have inspired or influenced a Romanian three-headed mythological monster named Balaur, who was very similar to a dragon and who has been linked enough with the Hydra of Lerna .

1: Now THAT is a King.
2: He's finally worthy of the King title.

I'll put it to you straight as someone who has seen the old school films and has Ghidorah The Three-Headed Monster on her list of favorites.
Physically, Ghidorah was something of a joke. His body was impractically barrel-shaped, his wings were useless for anything but flight so a good shove and he's floored, selfsame wings never should've gotten him off the ground with the way they were attached, and he had this habit of throwing his heads around more than necessary. To say nothing of him being a planet killer at the behest of aliens in several of his later appearances, which implies he's weakminded or, alternatively, didn't care if he was being used as a pawn as long as he got to destroy things. Kings are not pawns. Kings don't let themselves be used as pawns. Kings are more than raw power.
MonsterVerse!Ghidorah got a practical body, practical wings, and seems to be in business for himself. THAT is a King. As for the manes or lack thereof, some versions of Ghidorah *cough*Heisei*cough*Millennium*cough* didn't have them at all so that's a moot point.
That said, I give old-school Ghidorah higher points than Gigan. Gigan is one of those kaiju I simply cannot take seriously.
