As for your points, I get that it gave us a human story but he's the problem with that. We barely learn a thing about the characters. That and the fact that the first thing thing we see our main character do is basically an act of Muslim style terrorism. And what awesome takes on old Kaiju? We don't see Mecha G in action, the design looking like a robotic abortion of the old Mecha G's, Ghidorah didn't even look like himself. If didn't already know that it was supposed to be Ghidorah and I showed you an image of him in black and white would you be able to tell that it's him? And turning Godzilla into a planet was just retarded. I mean it adds NOTHING to the plot and he look's even fatter the Shin Godzilla.
What's wrong with having monsters on the screen for more then a 3 minutes of the film? At this point I've lot all hope for Toho and believe that you don't know how to make Kaiju films anymore. Yes I wan't more Godzilla movies but I also what them to be good. And so far Legendary has been giving us just that. Good movies.
Oh and for the record I defiantly could write a better story then the anime movies.
