Bio: After the initial fall of Earth and the attempted reign of The Serpent, the Klendathu Arachnids were finally able to set up colonies on Earth without intervention. Despite what the lies of propaganda told the human race, the Arachnids are extremely peaceful and intelligent creatures with complex social networks and are only violent if completely necessary; e.g. the Arachnid-Human War of Klendathu. The Arachnids are also known for taking other species, such as the Klendathu Sand Beetle and Klendathu Tank Bug, into their hives and social structures; sometimes even taking in hurt humans and other animals in their Earth colonies till healed or ready to leave.
The Klendathu Arachnids' Earth colonies are mostly in the desert south west of what was once the United States and northern Mexico. They thrive in this area of Earth because it closely resembles their home environment. The colonies seem to keep to themselves for the most part and rarely encroach on existing territories or homes, and almost never purposefully. Although almost exclusive to the drier regions, Arachnid subspecies, namely the Hopper Arachnids, have set up hives and colonies in Florida and Argentina.
Arachnids have also begun colonizing Earth’s sister planet Mars and even Venus. The Martian colonies are completely subterranean and are surviving on water and native Martian life that lives in Mars’ expansive cavern symptoms. The Venusian colonies are under even harsher conditions and will most likely die out within a few generations.

Traits/Abilities:

Sexual Dimorphism: Male and Female differ slightly in appearance. Females right arm is slightly longer in size and the also have a more yellow tint to their armor while males are more red in coloration.

High Intelligence and Social Behavior: The Klendathu Arachnid is an extremely intelligent creature with very intricate social behavior and a need for community. Their social nature and feeling of empathy have even extended to their species adopting other species in need, such as other the Klendathu species the Tanker Bugs and Sand Beetles, now a permanent fixture in the Arachnid social structure.

Know what movie I love? Starship Troopers. Generally speaking, I tend to enjoy movies that mock fascists, republicans, and military idolizing. But I also love Starship Troopers because it paints such an interesting picture of its universe and particularly the "Bugs". The thing though that makes me sad about Starship Troopers is that the fascists win and continue to beep up the poor animals. I just want the cute space bugs reach he stars and setup new worlds. Why should be proud of doing it and hate the Arachnids for doing the same thing? And so I decided not to just make the Arachnids innocent animals, but actually make them peaceful, caring, and intelligent creatures because I think they deserve better. I took a few liberties with the design, but tried to make it still true to the design in spirit.

This is another entry about what is basically the "3rd Phase" of the Creature Feature universe. I think the 3rd Phase is going to end up being the most fleshed out and certainly my favorite one.
