An old commission finally gets finished for Mike O'Brien .It's Gamera vs. a swarm of Basilisk O'Brienus .
Mike sent me a picture of this Chicken Snake and said make it look cool . It still looks like a chicken snake but if Mike's happy then , Cool !
I sent you the original and a jpeg Mike . Did you get them ?

The basilisk and the cockatrice are not the same thing. -_-
One of various tiny little things that get me worked up.
Still, it's a pretty sweet pic. Extremely dynamic. Gammy choking one of them is a lovely violent touch.

The creatures are extraterrestrail beasts that eat nuclear energy,nuclear materials and waste,lay eggs on radioactive material or waste,rapidly reproduce and are destructive as Gyaos. Though of another new Gamera foe that might be used in a future film if Daiei Studios wants to use it.

It doesn't matter. They're clearly named after the basilisk, yet they look like cockatrix.

The basilisk and the cockatrice were not the same creature. Common myth is that they were, but they weren't.
The basilisk was a serpent - or occasionally a lizard. The cockatrice was a reptilian chicken monster. AND they had different names.
Now, that SHOULD be enough for most people, but apparently it's not, so to add to it, the basilisk predated the cockatrice by a good margin of time.
Thusly, the basilisk and the cockatrice were not the same creature. They had different names and different appearances. That SHOULD be enough.
