I loved the metallix covenant. Its a shame that the fleetway sonic series ended after the SA1 adaptation, since Sonic heroes would have been a great way to bring back the metallix and Shadow the hedgehog would have been good for restoring the echidnas and showing the Drakon empire again.
I much preferred Fleetway to Archie, since Archie is too many cliches whereas Fleetway was usually scarier and interesting.
Ultimate example of Archie cliche?: Scourge AKA Evil Sonic. (evil twins ugh)

The names were sorta used interchangeably when I was a kid, and I prefer the name mecha. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they both have the same name in the Japanese booklet. I'm also not really trying to stay accurate to the design of either character... my drawing was vaguely modeled off other fanart that referenced Sonic CD's 'Metal Sonic' and Archie Comic's roboticized 'Mecha Sonic.' *shrugs* I also must point out that Sonic CD's english booklet is full of funky translation and porting issues. If you wanna get technical about it the American Amy Rose from Sonic CD should be referred to as '
Anyway, hope you don't take this the wrong way. I get kids telling me that I've spelled Aeris wrong and all kinds of silly things, and it mostly feels like fandom quibbling.

Oh. I like how he looks like a mix between Metal and Mecha. I actually used to call him Mecha Sonic because I was a Godzilla fan, but not much of a Sonic fan back then, and Godzilla's robotic counterpart is called Mecha Godzilla.
