Watching you can be very difficult at times. You are such a wonderful artist, that often I hate deleting the deviation notifications that I receive!
As always, your abilities for precision and attention to detail are simply stunning, and both especially evident in the quasi-cutie mark design (were they always called cutie marks? Also, I refer to the consistency of shape, despite being done freehand.) and in the styling of the hair...And eghads, I just noticed the little strawberries in her eyes as well!
If you don't mind me asking, what materials do you use in creating these? I would guess that decoration on the body is some sort of low melting point polymer, and the hair is a synthetic fiber, but beyond that...Also, do you make your own casts for the bodies, or do you buy those?
Just as a parting complement, I also would like to praise your photography: the lack of significant shadows, the color saturation, the lighting...Even your background choices are marvelous!

No. I think they used to just be called "symbols," but I don't know if that's what I called them or if they had an official word. Hasbro used to market things very differently, pony backcards from the early 80's definitely have a weird fairytale quality about them.
I buy the bodies. I've thought about casting small objects, and at some point hope to try that, but for the most part these are customs and they are made with polymer and paint on top of the original bodies. The hair is nylon, like original pony hair.

Yeah, she is pretty popular. ^_^ I kinda wish she was in a different pose in the G1's, though.

Yeah, it's not my favorite pose either, although I don't mind it. I have to say though, I'm always impressed by custom TAF ponies...their designs seem so intricate to copy correctly, I know I'd get tired of painting it long before I finished!

Yeah, this is the first time I attempted one of them and it took a long time to finish the symbol. I could have probably rehaired another pony in the time it took, and usually that's the time consuming step.
