Menelik, a slim nightborne warrior, has developed a special sort of affection for his pandaren friend, Amunet, with whom he has a very unique relationship. They both struggle with verbal communication, and thus they like to communicate through letters even when they're sitting right next to each other. They both have a talent for art, hers much more refined and skillful than his - in his opinion anyway. In this scene, he's lying down on the grass next to Amunet, watching the starry sky after the ink she's painted him with has dried. The markings she drew represent those that the Nightborne people have, but they're earned through a ritual that Menelik has been unable to pass due to his skinny frame and lack of brute strength. She paints them on her based on his descriptions and drawings of what they look like, mostly inspired off his father's markings.

What she doesn't realize is, the fact that she took the time to do something like this to him is... beyond special. He's never felt so important before.

Sadly, he is Horde and she is Alliance, and they are only this close due to their faction's brief moment of truce during the Burning Legion's invasion. Once the truce ends, they might need to part ways, never to see or write to each other again.
