I hadn't seen her in days. Her new job took her out of town and she didn't get much time off, so when we finally got to spend time together we tried our damnedest to make the most of it. My girl always knows me, she can read me like an open book. So I really shouldn't have been surprised when she immediately picked up on my bad mood, I'd had an awful day at my own job and just wanted to curl up in bed to get the evening over with. That was until I got the call that she was going to be in town a few days, it really did lift my spirits to know I'd get to see her tonight but I still felt like crap.

Naruko always stayed at the local inn when she visited, it wasn't very expensive and the fact that my parents didn't really get along with her much meant that staying at my place was more of a hassle. I met her at the corner of the street the inn was settled on and was instantly tackled with her usual flying hug greeting, by now I was used to it so she didn't knock me off my feet anymore.

"Babe! I missed you so much!"

Her endless enthusiasm was ever present every time I saw her, ordinarily it would rub off on me a little but today I was just feeling too low.

"Sasuko? What's wrong?"

"It's nothing." I lied, knowing full well she could see right through it. "I'm glad to see you love."

She gave me a skeptical look but didn't question it further, taking my hand in hers Naruko pulled me along behind her as she headed inside. I absentmindedly followed behind her, holding her hand tightly she led me up the stairs and along the upper floor towards her door. As we neared her room I quickly turned, She turned as well but I think it was in surprise at my sudden movement. I glared down towards the hallway we'd just come from, I swore I felt someone there just a moment ago but there was no-one in sight. Naruko gave my hand a gentle squeeze which pulled me back to her, I didn't even realize I had my Sharingan active until she gave me the concerned look she always had when I was over-reacting.

"C'mon in babe. I think I can help you to relax."

So I saw the new Inn scenery and this scenario instantly came to mind, the idea that the happy couple would be very wary about someone seeing them entering a hotel room together.
Then I thought about it some more and realized, this would make a great prologue to the Naruko x Sasuko miniseries ^_^
