Description
After three books about Cain's adventures I must say that Ciaphas is the luckiest man that ever lived in Imperium. )And so the idea for this picture was born. )

Cain's plot armor doubles as a magnet for the single most danferous person, event, or location on whatever planet he's on. In short, his status as unkillable, while established, is constantly being tested.

Β He has luck, but he also has smarts and dumbs to use it for. I mean one moment he is almost Sherlock and another he does something soooou smart he only understand that it was stupid after he done it. Is it dumb luck or what? Regardless it only proves that to be a legendary hero one might only need Fortuna and Murhy on their side. Former to save you from any dangerous situations and latter to get you in them in the first place.

over a century in the Service of the Empire of Man and all he lost where a pair of Fingers and countless nights of sleep
this in a Universe where everyone and everything is out to kill you with so much overkill that just being in the same Hemishere as the impact might be instant death
no wonder Cain is worshiped in some places

yeah, killing two Khorne Chaos Marines and a Slanesh Daemoness singlehandly (at least it looked to them like that) can do that
too bad his rep inspires Cain's superiours to "slap a medal on him and find a more creative way to get him killed"

and since we at the thema of 40k Crossovers, there is also a series of VERY good MassEffect fanfics where Shepard is basically a reborn Cain, including the Luck and the (supposedly undeserved) Rep
made in a format resembling the Cain Novels (this includes Footnotes)

He's just so lucky and constantly gets into events that would have gotten normal man killed many times over.Β
And I love his witty one liners that comes after whenever a khrone cultist screams "Blood for the blood god!"
Plot armor is better than any type of armor given by the Imperium. [gets shot by commissar]

Indeed. He possesses the most unnatural luck. In my opinion it's better when a character is lucky, rather than unstoppable perfect cheat machine. That's why I like Cain - he's no superman, but he gets the job done and cracks jokes in the process.
I recall that moment. It was something about a game cup to Cain's Schola Progenium's sport team.
[saved by plot armour]

It's like the Master Chief from Halo, he's the luckiest of all the Spartans. I do love his jokes and his awesome moments.
"Blood for the blood god!" - Khrone Cultist.
"Harriers for the Cup!" - Cain.
[wipes sweat off face] Thanks for the save, plot armour!
