You already know what I think... this has been sitting in my message box for while and i have been trying to write something but constantly getting interrupted... i like these series, leaning on someone, a shoulder to cry on, someone who gives you strength whom you love dearly

my feelings exactly...but how do we decide who these people are...do we even know. Is this the inspiration of lonely feelings? Very strong points to make and they keep me begging more questions.

Lighter in mood than the last one, but still very heavy with emotion. Part of it is the texture and part is the posture of the figure. The off-balance feeling really grabs me in this one.

yes...this one is off balance...intentionally...I am exploring visual representations of emotions. Trying my hand at getting back into figure drawing without being too realistic. Saturating symbolism in composition.

Sorry for being so out of touch. I am spending the weekend truly trying to catch up. I miss your comments and the interactions with artists. Good to read your comments today. Hope you are well!

i had to look at the piece previous to this one. this one definitely seems fuller than the other. the lines aren't has stark but there still is more presence. maybe it is due to the colour variation you put onto the surface? i'm not sure, but it's a good thing. ^^

Thank you...a few people have hated that...but I liked the non specific contrast it created. Thank you for your comment.

Hi kaiorton, I realy can feel your mood on both paintings. Both are made in a wonderful way. Great work. I think I have to wait for a third one. Your way is not already finished, you are a great woman. I think the third will be like the first, but smoother, will see????

yes, we shall....hopefully I will find the time to actually paint the third installment.
Hope you are well my friend. I have missed being on DA.

Very nicely done, once again!

The strange feeling that I get is that this second piece feels less full of violently "negative" emotions than the first part, at least to me, and I cannot help but feel something akin to fear that she's fading and as a watcher, I'm unable to do anything about it...

What I mean is when you look at the two pieces at the same time, it seems the woman is losing her antagonism with the world, it's like she's lost some of her rage now and she's beginning to fade away because she has accepted some of the things she wouldn't take before - she has somehow compromised with what she rejected.

Maybe that's why I prefer the first one, I love that even though the woman seems sad, she's still fighting against her environment !

And maybe I'm interpreting too much and you think I'm somehow delusionnal - which is not that crazy to think...

Great job, thanks for sharing it !

Berenice

I can not believe that it has taken me this long to find the time to respond to your very thoughtful comment. I also can not believe that I have not seen you on skype nor heard about all of your adventures in life.

As for the comment...your interpretation was eerily correct on many levels, both for this piece and the comparison of the two together. The evolution of the second piece is in fact the fading and compromising...perhaps even a bit of just being worn down. I have not started a third in the series as I have not had time to really give thought to what I am hoping to say. Your comments have been very helpful in seeing how they might be interpreted and have given me additional insight into my own reflections. For that I thank you again and again.

As for you...I would like to hear from you. Email me at my Northwestern address and let me know what you are up to these days. Hugs,

Kai

For a 9x12 piece, this feels immense... the gold gives off that warm glow... and especially that you use real gold (i'm a fraud, hehehe), wow...

extremely sensible and clever of you to put in green areas... gold always seem to work with moss or patina green...

very very nice.

I always love hearing from you...no matter the indication my lack of timely response may give the impression of. Your work, I feel, is closest in content and technique as mine as I have found and it is always good to hear your thoughts on how I use the media.

How are you these days?
I have been away. Going to spend the weekend getting back in touch hopefully.

I'm ok... i have a direct examination on a witness in court this afternoon... my stomach is in a knot... but other than that, i'm good I've been away myself lately enjoying a so-so life. glad to hear from you, though.
