Mattepainting done last month for the Luminarium's latest exhibit, Gaia. It was taken from a sketch I did a while back ([link] ) and changed a little to match the concept I had in mind. I enjoy the way it turned out.Related content

Hey man this thing is awesome... like absolutely gorgeous and shtuff... was wondering if i could use one of your paintings for a page on facebook... you will get full credit and its not going to be used for profit. just for a fun roleplaying thing between me and a friend. i do hope to include other people eventually but like i said i will give you full credit cause obviously you made it lol... anyways thanks man for creating such an awesome landscape

Nice one! I like the composition. However it looks to me more like a concept matte rather than a finished matte painting. If you look on the right side of the image where the river is, the pictures you used are really sharp comparing to the elements on the left. They also look quite painterly, especially the mountains in the background, making you lose the same consistency throughout the image.
But it's just some technical criticism, something to keep in mind with your future work. Good work, keep it up!

Thanks man. Fully agree with you there, thought the same thing when I was making it. This is definitely no production matte paint. I appreciate the crits as well man.
Also, every time I look at this I see how I didn't blur the river and it irritates the hell out of me. Might go back and do it sometime.
