The Gapura was one of the oldest drawings I've done for Zeldamon. Very cool little design. I wasn't sure if I was going to do Big Deku Baba since it's just a scale-up, but I decided A) I have more cool chompy plant teeth designs to try out (feeeeed me!) and B) That sucker had a REAL effect on me back in the day. Just.. you go back to your lovely forest home and it's overrun with these guys! You're bigger now, you expect old monsters to seem shrimpy, but this thing's a giant and it moves with unnatural speed to just SLAM into you.. And then in the Forest Temple they can really ruin your day. Left an impression for sure. So I gave it more of the weird shovely mouth shape that the POLYGON model had, compared to the more round look of the official art.
