Updated Version. Removed the background and added the reflection to the helms' visors as well as fixing a few minor coloring problems.

Well as I mentioned in my last deviation, I have 5 projects completed that I'm uploading, and here is the second one, Power Rangers Space Protection. I guess it is clear I did them based off the Power Rangers in Space season, but as the story will explain, there is a reason to it and I hope you'll like the story as well. Now, you may have noticed I try to put the leader of the team in the middle and the sixth ranger on the far right, so far all the teams have had their Red Ranger in the middle, but that ends now, this is my first team with a Non-Red Leading ranger. The story will explain more about it and well, I guess it actually looks better to have the Black Ranger as leader, so, hope you like it.

After Hexagon was formed and their first three primary protection teams were formed, it was time to begin with their iniciative of protecting troublesome zones. After forming these first teams, the three leaders and founders, Billy, Tommy and Jason, decided to create a team to protect from outerspace invasions like the one experienced during the last attack of the United Alliance of Evil.

Hexagon decides to ask Andros for his help to become the mentor of this new team, unfortunately, Andros declined the offer, he had a family with Ashley now and while some of their friends lived on Earth, they had settled on KO-35 now. Instead he sent Zhane in his place. Since Hexagon requested both his and Zhane's morphers for studies to be the base of the new team, Andros gave his morpher to his friend to deliver it. In the matter of a couple weeks Billy had upgraded Andros' morpher's functions and ranger suit, and adapted the technology AID created for Hexagon use, now it was time to select a new team. With Jason's help, Zhane found the perfect fit for what they needed. Shortly after the UAE attack on Earth, all NASADA cadets were trained in hand to hand combat and after Trini's retire they started a program in honor of the Red Ranger that once worked there, a program to prepare every cadet to help the rangers if they ever needed help. This program provided them with three cadets to become the first members of the team: Martin Lawson, Kendall Morrison and Allen Sanford.

After a couple weeks the team was almost ready, but still two members short, the now mentor Zhane was preparing, with the help of Hexagon, a test mission for them. As soon as they prepared to leave, they recieved a distress signal from KO-35, the planet had been attacked and with with their powers lost and Zhane on Earth, there was little three former Rangers (Andors, Ashley and Karone) could do to protect the planet. Hexagon prepared the launch for the new space ship, the Astro Mega Ship Mk.III a new version of the flagship of the Space Rangers, equipped with interspace technollogy developed together by KO-35's AID and Aquitan scientists which allowed it to use wromholes to jump through the galaxy as long as they had coordinates for the planet they wanted to visit. The team boarded the ship, with a few crew members to secure its functioning, they left for KO-35 and as soon as they arrived, they found the planet's capital severely damaged in its infraestructure. Deviot, a villain from the Lost Galaxy Rangers had returned and with him, he brought a large group of robotic insects to help him get control over the planet, storming the city without warning and taking down most of its defenses right away. Led by Zhane the new team of Rangers swiftly attacked Deviot's minions but they were being overpowered and outnumbered by the footsoldiers. Even with the rest of former Rangers on KO-35 they had trouble with the sheer amount of foes. Zhane asked for DECA, the built-in AI on the AMS3 to attack the floods of robots around the city. As the footsoldiers scaped or focused on attacking civilian, Deviot moved his attention to the new Rangers, knowing they were the biggest threat there. The three rangers managed to fed off Deviot but were not giving signs of defeating him. It was until two crew members of the AMS3 that came out to help them, using only their tools to fight that the group of five managed to make Deviot retreat. Deviot scoffed and finding his attack had lost all sense of surprise decided to retreat with the rest of his crew, he knew that if he was so easily defeated by these three mere inexperienced rangers, he was not fully recovered as he thought.

After Deviot's scape, and everything settled, Karone explained Zhane and the rest of the Rangers who Deviot was and how he had returned. The villain had merged with Trakeena once, but after her defeat at the hands of the Galaxy Rangers, the villainess scaped, severly injured, she realized that Deviot's body and concious within her, even when at first empowered her, was now an obstacle for her insect power to grow to its full and thus she was separated from him, leaving a dying Deviot to rot in the depths of an abyss in a planet with no apparent life forms to save him. Deviot had good luck as it turned out on that planet, Conder Rackham, a space pirate, much like Divatox, detected his life signal when returning to the planet which was actually his base. Deviot made a deal with Rackham, if they helped him recover to his full strength, he would show him were a big treasure could be found. The ambitious pirate accepted and helped Deviot recover, though finding the parts to build him a new body took longer than the treacherous villain expected. Once he was completed, Deviot was forced to fullfil his promise, and took Rackham to an abandoned planet, having already made a deal with his crew and second hand man, Deviot betrayed the pirate and killed him, leaving the corpse in that planet, though he made sure Rackham would not run with the same good luck he had and destoyed the planet. After Rackham's death, Deviot decided to make some deals with Rackham's enemies, promising them a good deal of the treasure he promised Rackham to them, plus a planet for each of them to rule on their on, a very tempting promise to the ambicious buccaneers. Now with a pirate army under his control and hundreds of robotic insects as his foot soldiers (styled that way by Deviots request, probably an aftermath of merging with Trakeena), Deviot embarked on an quest to get revenge from the Rangers that almost destroyed him once, starting with the closest one, Karone the Pink Galaxy Ranger who was now living at KO-35.

With this knowledge, and knowing AID had not created any new morphers since his second one, a perfected version of his original morpher after Psycho Green destroyed the first, Zhane decided they would stay at KO-35 to protect it, but to do that, he'd need a complete team. The now mentor turned to the two crew members that came to aid the rangers, and after watching their outstanding performance, coming toe to toe with the rangers even without morphing, Zhane decided to offer them the remaining two positions in the squad and so Ivan Cardona and Linda Wu were recruited into the team.

It was until a battle with one of Deviot's generals that Martin's bad decisions almost had a civillian killed that the Second In Command on the team, Ivan, faced the Red Ranger, questioning his leading skills and bad decisions. A discussion that almost turned into a fight ensued, with Martin daring Ivan to lead them if he thought he could be a better leader. Much to Martin's surprise, Ivan turned out to the a much better leader than he was. The Red Ranger wanted to relinquish his leading position and give Ivan the Red morpher, though under Hexagon's regulations, every morpher was DNA bound and even if they wanted, they couldn't pass it to another person so instead Martin proposed them that both him and Ivan would retain their "colors" but that the latter should be the leader and after gaining Zhane's approval, the Black Ranger became the new leader of the team.

Back on earth, knowing support would always be needed, Billy and his team studied Zhane's morpher and how it was different from Andros', so like he did before, he created a new and improved version fo it, creating the 6th and last of the Space Protection series. Just in time since a greater threat had fallen on the rangers, Deviot had brought the Psycho Rangers onces again. Somehow he had replicated the Psychos when he acquaired the cards and kept them for himself, saving the copies on a moon of Triforia, now, these rangers had become too much of a threat and they had to be destroyed. The rangers fought the Psychos, but they were too powerfull for them, this threat demanded a new power to join the team. Without the knowledge of Zhane or any other ranger, Andros had trained a KO-35 native to help the rangers if needed. With the Psychos' arrival, Meicy Starr was forced to join the fight after recieving her morpher from Hexagon, she turned into the 6th member of the team, the White Ranger.

With Meicy's help the battle was now evened, and after long and ruthless battles, Psycho Pink, Yellow and Blue were defeated. But a new problem appeared when neither Psycho Red or Black could be defeated, even when the rangers knew the secret of the Psychos, they could only be defeated by the Ranger of their respective color, but apparently it was not working with the last two Pyschos. After a battle that mimicked TJ's plan from when they first defeated the Psychos, using this time 6 Red Rangers, Meicy came to the realization that Psycho Red was not going to be destroyed by Martin because he was not a leader anymore, and this made the Red Ranger feel he was no match to his evil counterpart, giving Psycho Red the upperhand in their battles. On the other hand Psycho Black's quest to become a leader such as his counterpart Ivan, was the strength that allowed the evil ranger to survive their encounters. With this knowledge, the team designed a plan to separate the psychos while Zhane spoke with Martin, telling him that even when Ivan was the leader of the team, he should not feel he was less than his opponent, after all Psycho Red was an evil being, yes he was the leader of his team, but his team had no respect for him and neither he had for any of them, on the contrary, Martin respected and cared for his team mates and the best proof of that was him surrendering his leading position to Ivan. With Zhane' words in mind, Martin joined the battle against Psycho Red and was able to defeat him.

With no other Psychos left, Psycho Black felt like he had accomplished his goal and challenged Ivan to a one-on-one battle. In the end, the Psycho's confidence proved to be his doom, thinking of himself as not only the leader but also the best of the now dead Psychos, he felt he was not on equal terms with the Black Ranger but above him and now lacking that desire to grow stronger, Psycho Black was finally defeated by Ivan. After all the Psychos were defeated, Deviot's army was no longer that great of a threat, and with no more pirates, or "generals" as he addressed them to back him up, half of them had left Deviot prior to the Psycho's arrival, his army had no more aces to trust in. Deviot's army soon followed the Psycho's fate and even after a full scale attack on KO-35, he was not able to defeat the rangers nor destroy the planet as he wanted and finally was defeated, once again. For good.
