The child of Asgore and Toriel Dreemurr, Asriel was raised in the Royal Family and grew up being groomed to be the next king of Asgore’s Kingdom. His natural-born curiosity caused him to wander about outside of the city, though always within watch of one of the Royal Guard. Asriel one day wandered into a meadow, and found someone lying in the flowers, heavily wounded. He panicked, taking the stranger to his parents, where they were healed. Asriel found out they were human from his mother, and was amazed; he’d never seen a human before! Once the human - Chara, they were named - began to heal, Asriel befriended them and soon it became apparent that the two had bonded as siblings. Not wanting to rip their son’s friend away, and enjoying the human child’s company, the Royal family adopted the human child.
