Alec, a Talorian Philosopher, proven ally to The Flight while still holding immense loyalty to Cascade and his herd, continues to live with his wife, Selora, while raising their handful of children ... striving to be the best dad despite any challenges that may be thrown his way.

His retirement is due merely to my loss of inspiration for him, something that's been a long time coming. Even though, wow, I still love him oh so much and I really do love how his arc is and has been going, I think I'll be just as happy appreciating him from the sidelines, without worrying about keeping him currently active in the group. Instead, he'll be an NPC for KitoGryff to use for Selora's story lines where I can manage him a little bit here and there.

I'm kind of surprised (well... maybe not really, actually) that this was sad to draw. Alec was an adopt that got me into SA but also really, really inspired a lot of artistic creativity in me that I had neglected for years. He was honestly my crash-course, test dummy because even though I still have a long way to go, I feel like I've learned and improved a lot since I've started working on him (this was the first time I drew him, Alecfirstpic !). I almost feel like his starting point was mine in at least discovering the art world (yes outside of SA as well lmao) because in the past (nearly) three years I've really been able to open my eyes to how much of it there actually is, which is a big deal coming from a place where striving toward an art career was thought of as more-or-less irresponsible. Regardless, I'm really glad I'm no longer trying to ignore something I'm actually very passionate about :')

Anyway, don't be too mad at me for waving goodbye to him (at least in the group, for now) because it was something that I went back and forth on and put off for about a year lmao ... and I'd be very surprised if there's not some sort of reincarnation of him down the line... I have a few ideas.

Also, I feel like most of the things I've uploaded here lately have been just quick and sketchy. I'm sorry about that but also I'm not because just killing some steam by drawing my characters for fun without pressure (really, pressure that just comes from myself, no one here) has been the bEST. I've been working on portfolio images and reapplying to schools (and accidentally started a few personal projects al;skfd) so that's where most of my artistic energy will be going for the next few months anyway.

.... this shading was a blast to draw. I love dramatic lighting and colors and it gives me so much motivation to PAINT
