Alright, it took me a long while and I am really pushing the deadline but I am done!!

This is my entry for PaintedLadybird design contest and I am really proud of it. I hope you like it. I never really did much character design and it was a really fun challenge. You had to choose a certain color palette for the design. I used this one: i.pinimg.com/236x/cf/5f/fe/cf5…

Name: Kala

Gender: Female

Abilities:

Light creation magic: Kala can shape light to recreate things she has seen in her life. These stay solid for some hours to a week, depending on how large and complex they are and how much effort Kala puts into creating them. Mainly she uses this make pretty flowers but she can also recreate larger things, like entire structures, although that is very difficult for her and can take up to an hour. Small things take only a minute or two. The objects she makes glow softly and look like molten gold. They slowly loose their glow but can be reinfused by Kala. After using her magic for the first time, some of Kalas‘ hair changed color.

Backstory:

Kala grew up in a small village in an isolated valley of the Tasarian Mountains. When she started to manifest her magical powers early in her youth, the whole village started to mistrust her. „Witchcraft, this is work of evil spirits“, they called. But she did not listen to them. As her mother, the only person who accepted and loved Kala for who she was, came down with a sickness, Kala went outside everyday and fetched her mother some of the flowers she so loved. Sadly, her mother passed away after weeks of being bedridden and Kala was alone. But instead of being overcome by grief, she set out into the world, not looking back at her home village. She went to see new places and meet new people, and found a new home in traveling the world. But she always carried with her a light creation of the flowers her mother loved, a piece of her origin. For every adventure has a start...
