Description
So it's Saturday again, which means that I'm going to post something!Β
How many of you know about the Slizers (or Throwbots, if you're like me and living in the USA)? I remember seeing them in the catalogs and the building manuals in 2001, but by the time I really started getting sets in 2002, they were but ghostly apparitions. They always looked cool and what-not, but I never bought any of them as they faded from store shelves. Β
Anyway, recently I ordered a lot on Ebay which was pretty much a steal. Most of the Mctoran, the Toa Mata, all of the Bohrok, two rahi sets, 3 Roboriders, Makuta (without his mask ), part of the exo-toa armor, the rahi construction set, mask packs, krana packs, the rahi construction set, and the Slizers, or at least, most of them. So yeah, I figured I'd make my own Slizer, not a Hero Factory or Bionicle MOC. So for this reason, I count him as a good humanoid, rather than a revamp.

Firstly - holy wow at that lot on eBay! Really nice haul there!
Secondly - great to see a Slizer MOC! I love the use of the McToran arms in the back and the central upper body in tan, and those hints of pale brown set it off. What little I remember about the Slizers - like the throw disk! - seems like this would certainly fit in with some of the bigger models.

Awesome, I like how you stuck to parts from around that time to create the right feel

Thank you! The Slizers were back in a time when technic was more skeletal and mechanical. Now in days, we have all these nice armor pieces to cover up the frames, but I quite like how the Slizers wore their inner workings on their sleeves.

I agree, the difference in texture is quite unique.

I got Granite many years ago, and he'll always be a Throwbot to me. Slizers is cool and all, but I love Throwbots. What came before Bionicle will always be in my heart!

Yeah, I guess Slizer to me sounds more dedicated. It's kind of like if the toa were called masters instead.... Oh wait
Anyway, yeah, it's really just one of those things, I guess. Although, I do like the European version when they are all on one planet.Β

Wow from sound of it you sure are have a very lucky fortune for plastic treasure. But anyways as for this Slizer Themed Moc I like you more a less sticked with using almost only parts with which you could build this back at the "rise of buildable action figure" era. And while by today's standards this isn't really good I do bet back at that era it would have been one of the better mocs around.Β
