I think what freaks me out is wondering if that is just part of the cluster...what if they are thinking of making something far bigger and the hand is just one part?......I don't want to know how many gem shards they need for that.

I don't know why so many people want Peridot to be redeemed. I prefer her as a villain. That cold and calculating type makes for great villain material. Her escape is also pretty funny with how out of character it is.
Also, even if she didn't create the clusters, she did still continue experimenting on them even after being disconnected from homeworld.

Ugh, this episode was so good, but so dark and when the Cluster showed up I was barely able to keep watching because I'm a wimp like that. That was horrible to see it try to regenerate and it ends up turning into THIS! Very nicely done though, especially with the gem shards.

I really hope that when we do eventually get to a point where Gem monsters can be restored, we get to see this one, Cluster as it's apparently being called, as one fully stabilized, permanently fused Gem. Would make for an amazing character dynamic.Β

If/when that happens, we'll probably see multiple Gems from that cluster. You can tell from the four or five projections before it formed into the Gem monster.

Well I've heard the argument been made that all those designs looked pretty similar to each other, which could imply that that's what the fusion looks like as opposed to the individual Gems. The reason there was four or five projections was to signify the multiple Gems involved.Β

one thing i noticed about the current gems is that they do have similar physical attributes, like pearl and lapis look alike, jasper has a similar design to amethyst (as well as a gem pearl fought protecting rose during her war flashbacks), and ruby and garnet are rather alike too (as well as peridot if you turn her head like 45 degrees or so)
what is gems actually have body templates and there are just a bunch of gems that look similar to one another (or just copy one another because a lot of them aren't very creative
i bet that theory will be solidified even more if Sardonyx looks a lot like rose quartz or sapphire when she enters the scene. But its just something i noticed.

I agree with you. I really like Peridot redemtion fics but this episode makes me feel like not liking her. Up until now, the only Homeworld Gem I didn't like redemed was Jasper but now Peridot might be joining her. Lapis remains as something hopeful to me.

Lazuli was an anti-hero from the start. Now she's a traitor for dealing with Jasper. If she weren't presumed dead at the bottom of the ocean, I'd say joining Team Steven full-time is the only option left...
