I think the value here is, she does not need to wear high heels, fancy clothes and pounds of makeup to smile for the camera. Her smile is in fact real and truely happy no matter what life has dealt her.

I met her near a shop. I thuught she was an interesting charachter, so I asked her if I could take some pictures of her and she agreed.

a bit was done in post-production but most of it the diffuser filter did the job.
