The top fur is already spotted with leopard markings (I bought it like that). The white areas, the transition between the two furs and the face I have spotted and shaded using oils, acrylics and Prisma markers.

Do the primary markers stay on the fur or wipe of with touch?

The Prisma markers dry fast and stay on the fur. They are a well known professional brand that you might know if you live in the US. In Europe where I live it is easier to find the Copic markers, which are very similar in quality and use. The oils take more time to dry and are trickier to use. I love to combine the mediums as each has a different effect.

I have tried copic markers and couldn't get them to stick to the fur. It wiped right off. May have to try prisma

That is funny...I never had problems with Copics....admittedly I use them just for small detailing, preferring other means for larger areas and subtle shading. But it always stays. Have you tried giving the fur a couple of minutes under the warm air of a hair dryer? It might help fixing the colour. As I said, I have used the Copics markers (those with the fine tip on one end and the large one on the other) and never had such issues... I hope I have been helpful! XXX
