001 of the 100 themes project. What better for the theme of "introduction" than myself?
First time to draw Kalico (my calico cat-dragon fursona, to those of you who have never seen my art before) as an anthro and, boy, was it fun! I know a lot of the anatomy's off (especially that hand e_e), but I don't care 8D. So, anyway, basically I drew Kalico as "me"--in the type of clothes I'd wear, the accesories I own, even my curlyish hair XD.
Everything in this picture helps to define me; everything about Kalico, of course, (her design fits me so well for numerous reasons I don't feel like typing up XD), my cat t-shirt XD (which I made up
), the clouds, my various art tools (paintbrush, sketchbook, and tablet)....even my livestrong bracelet! Here I tried out a new technique--I shaded/highlighted using a low opacity and flow and it gave me interesting results! More of an OC-ish look--more painterly--I think.This'll be my new devID shortly--I just need to type up some info and make it smaller x3.
Time spent: 5-6 hrs?
Tools: Photoshop CS2 with my Wacom Intuos Tablet (as pictured here XD)

I've seen a bunch of these "100 deviation" things floating about.... Yours is probably the first that looks like its had any effort put into it.

Currently, I have only three themes with some semblance of completion-- and that's only sketched out lineart XD I gotta get working on mine =3
You never really struck me as the kind of girl who'd wear pink-- I guess that it's reasonable after seeing this. I envy the fact that you can make a shirt look like a shirt and not a cloth tube with more tubes sticking out for sleeves (guess who does that? One hint: his name starts with an "H", ends with "N", and has the middle letters "YU".) I think that the highlights came out fantastically; they really brighten you up instead of making you resemble something made of plastic, and the pose carries no hints of stress or discomfort whatsoever. You did well with the accessories, too-- do you have a leather-bound sketchbook? Mine's your typical spiral-bound Stradlater XD
Any chance you can put up a cloud tutorial? Those always kill me in the end, no matter what I try x_x Anyway, excellent work here, and here's to 99 more pictures!

I don't wear pink MUCH....but I have this one shirt with a dragon on it and it's pink...so....now I wear more and more pink
Yep, leather bound! .......haha, I wish. It's fake leather, but it loooooks real. But it feels like plastic XD.
