Aww you're too kind... ;w; I really don't like how my art comes out that much, but I'll always keep trying to improve as much as I can. I think it's possible to learn, I mean I used to never try to draw because I was too intimidated by it and I've always leaned more toward writing I guess... But I learned from tutorials here on DA and from experimenting and observing mostly. It's not as hard as it looks, it just takes patience and practice.

I totally understand. I think that's what mostly holds me back as well. xD It was a fun way to learn, much better than being cooper up in some classroom. I had more than enough of that when I was younger. I think art is different, it's okay to experiment and learn on your own and even develop your own techniques. That's just another part of what makes it beautiful to me. c: But it requires a lot of patience and that is the downside, because I can be very impatient sometimes.

I believe that all art is an experimentation, and an expression of the soul and how it's feeling at times. At least that is how it is for me when I write, and even with some of the painting I did on here. I think we can all be very impatient at one times or another lol. I'm glad you enjoyed learning how to do it all and that you continue to love doing it, it's great to see and know.

ferals and just animals in general still give me a tiny bit of trouble but i'll get it down one day /v\ LMAO YEAH i know exactly how you feel. :"D that happens to me pretty often actually// even i did an art trade earlier for a close friend and i was a bit concerned with it at first but now that it's done, it turned out sooo much better than the sketch oh boy :'D
but yeah as long as you work on a drawing, or whatever piece you work on, it's gonna be worth it. /v\ and experimenting is always a good thing ! you might end up finding something that you probably have not considering doing before and that's the amazing part ~ that's probably why i like to look at your stuff as well. it's just super refreshing <3
also off topic but have you seen one of those art vs artist memes going around ??? apparently people are comparing art styles with the artist's face lately-- i just did one out of curiosity and i think it's sort of true 8') it's really neat to look at ^^

I have a lot of trouble drawing anything, but I also struggle a lot more with animals than people, I think...
Huh I never heard of those, but I'll look into it... That does sound neat. Actually after looking through my inbox, I've found that a lot of the artists I watch are doing that. It's neat.

yes that's exactly how i am with my art as well ! im always trying something different with every piece that i do, even if it's not such a drastic change (it's mostly with the eyes since i tend to try something different with them each time LOL) but im sure you will with more years of practice ! /v\ at the rate you're going now it seems like you'll improve very very quickly x)

oh boy i remember going through this phase myself when i was still in high school myself LMAO/// my hair was so stiff and pointy like knives at first; it got better throughout the years ofc but i was never satisfied, like it still looked stiff to me until college x'D when i began to get more detailed and wispy with it and that's when i finally found the hair style i wanted// im sure you will find your style one day too !

It's like I go back and forth between writing and drawing, it seems to come in waves or something... That's awesome that you write and draw too. I understand, for a long time I didn't post mine online either. I don't regret doing it. Even though I've had bad reactions to some of my writing, the positive ones more than make up for it.

i guess that's why i feel really shy about sharing my writings publically LMAO-- im always just really conscious about what people say of it, so i try my best to practice and improve in places all on my own x'D
for the record im still a tiny bit shy about my writing skills, so for now im just going to resort to sharing my writings with just a good group of people/friends only x'D
but yes i can understand that ! even when i started to do digital art like....four years ago (yes short time, eh???) i will be honest. it did use to look traced and i used to get some bad reactions to them as well, but i have some really great friends that back me up and tried to support me so, im also very grateful to that. at least the good news about getting such harsh critique is, you improve dramatically LMAO
and you tried pretty nicely !! /v\ LMAO i think my style is finally forming to the way i wanted it to be, it used to be superrrr inconsistent. i've been looking at my recent works lately and i've noticed that i've been subconsciously trying different body types and even nose shapes !!!! it's not that much of a difference really but like, i have done a trade for vivyi just this recently, and you can probably tell the difference a bit better on that LOL
and oh !!! i guess you just want to settle with a particular style before setting off for commissions ??? just wanted to be sure if im following this right LOL

I totally understand. I used to be like that for a long time too, most of my life actually... Practice is always a good thing whether you show it to anyone or not. I tend to be really shy about sharing things with people at first. People just didn't like the kind of content that I chose to write, and I feel like some of them did critique my actual writing, but for others it was never about that. It was more about cutting me down and discouraging me than actually helping me improve. But it did the opposite and only made me want to get even better at what I do, just to show them that I could do better if I really wanted. That is so true, that's exactly it! Even the harshest crit can help you improve if you let it. So now I really don't mind any kind of feedback; I find it all helpful, just in different ways. c:
Aww thank you... ;w; Your style is so consistent now, that's amazing! I can tell you've spent a lot of time developing it into the beautiful art that it is now. Inconsistency is something that I struggle with but I think I've gotten a little better at it lately. Writing comes more naturally to me because I've been doing it ever since I could hold a pen and first learned to read and write. Drawing is something I always shied away from and I never started even trying to learn to draw until I was in my 20's. So I got a late start compared to people who have always been into drawing their whole life or something. But now that I'm a little more comfortable with it, I love it, because it's sometimes a better way to express one's self than just writing alone...
Sort of. I've already taken lots of commissions but lately I just feel like I want to improve more before I take anymore, or maybe I'm just not feeling up to it right now. So I'm just taking a break or something. I also kind of lost my motivation to draw lately, like I have inspiration because I want to do it and have ideas, but it's because I'm so busy with writing and other things.
