The name says it all. This is an unfinished version of the anti shipping weapon featured on many ship, especially the smaller ones. A sloop class may have only four of them, while a cruiser may have several dozen. The weapon fires a heated particle at an opposing ship in hopes of weakening any defences. Also used for close support agianst fighters as they straff a capital ship.
