You know, I used to feel that way (obviously bc I drew this), but after reading and understanding her character more she has a quiet, inner strength about her. I think if she has a moment of "valar morghulis", no one will see it coming because it will be through her cunning and intelligence. Unless GRRM completely throws us for a loop (which he's good at), then I think we will see a lot of knees bending to the Stark children.Β
Yes, but those would be epic and hilarious moments.Β

Looking at this now after reading the books, Sansa's strength isn't in wielding a sword, but I'd love a dire wolf to come into her life again. And yes, killkill Gregor, heh heh heh.Β

Yeah....This was before I read a bunch of meta and got into the books. I think it's possible Sansa could be involved in his death, but probably not in this sense. There's a good one also called In A Castle Built of Snow.
Thank you so much!

That's ok! It's an emotional roller coaster, and although I knew what was going to happen, I couldn't stop screaming, "Screw honor! Keep living!" You're making things up, but they're so very creative an original! I think, in Book Two, you get a little of her...being manipulative. Wising up on her situation, but I hope one day, she'll be carrying a sword and taking heads.

I know how you feel! But really, their relationship is so dysfunctional, but his attempts to be 'good', if only for her sake, is heartwarming-if not a bit disturbing at times. There's this scene...and there will be tears, maybe from, but I just hope you can get to it because I think this is a really defining moment in their relationship. That's just my opinion.
He moves as he pleases! He moves really slow. But I read on TvTropes that if he dies before finishing the books, the story will be finished via "Game of Thrones" on HBO.

He does have a wife, but I guess, if there's another person to write the books, it'd be different from his writing. I'm not completely against him letting the show finish his story, since they've done good so far. Except for the fact that it's Littlefinger who tells Sansa about Sandor's scars, and in the book, Sandor tells Sansa about his scars. It doesn't matter that he's drunk, he confided in her, and I think that's great. Taking that moment from me. Shame on them.

Yeah, I know that would be ridiculous to ask someone to continue a book. They have, but like you said, the way they have flipped character's lines around is frustrating. I just hope they stay as true as possible to the books.Β

chickedylee In reply to kallielef [2013-08-18 01:57:36 +0000 UTC]
As adaptations go, Game of Thrones is a pretty legit adaptation, but when I heard Littlefinger tell Sansa The Hound's story, I wanted pull his little beard/mustache off his face. You don't do that. It was much better in the book, but on the upside, my younger brother is mildly interested in it. I think his favorites are either Ned or Jaime. All the violence appeals to him, but not the Renly/Loras parts. He's still a bit off that.
I'm going to say, with Martin still holding a strong influence on the show, they're going to try, but they need to choose wisely on what they choose to omit or alter.Β

I wonder though if D&D did that to tie the three characters together for possibly The Winds of Winter or A Dream of Spring? I could see Sandor seeking revenge for Sansa against LF possibly, but who knows.
The sex on the show seems at times unnecessary, that's the only part that irks me.Β
π: 0 β©: 1
chickedylee In reply to kallielef [2013-08-27 02:46:47 +0000 UTC]
I want someone to get revenge of Littlefinger, because while I do admire his intelligence he has definitely gone down the slippery slope of insanity. I hope Sansa can get her way out, and it'd be better that she'd be the one to get herself out and taking Littlefinger down at the same time.Β
But yes, Sandor/Sansa reunion is something I'm waiting for. -my fingers are crossed- I'm on Book 4 right now, and Sansa is really getting into the role Littlefinger has set up for her. I'm worried how far will she go or will be forced to go.
Eeeh, I agree with the sex in the show. Sometimes it's just and not paced well. Fanservice handled badly. I've seen the actor who will play Oberyn Martell in Season 4, and I don't know if I'm all too pleased. I think I'm a little disappointed.

UGH. Wish I was there....And I can't even begin to think what will happen in WoW or ADofS. They have to reunite somehow, even if it's for a brief, beautiful moment before one of them dies *.*
Haha, I've heard mixed reviews about him. Yeah, could do without all the sex, but whatever, there's a fast forward button.Β

When used with enough cunning and wisdom, a pawn may become a queen, and as a queen, will cut down all her enemies, including her mentor. I cannot wait to see this. Sansa does not have to be Arya, and I want some semblance of who she is to remain with her, despite all the changes she going to undergo. Today! I was in the bus going to my school campus, and this girl decides to sit next to me, "I saw your book. You're good people." We spent about ten minutes discussing theories and spoilers, and she told me to stop doing research since it ruins the ride. Doesn't for me, but I am trying to not look up the summary of A Feast for Crows.
Nooo! No death for Sandor and Sansa. I don't know what I want because if I want too much, I get too little, but either way we're gonna hurt.Β
As far as I can imagine based on the descriptions in the book, The Martells always had a sandy complexion due to where they live, and he...just I'ma let it go. Fast forward buttons are the best, especially the gore and sex. I'm trying to push through the gore though.

Me neither, dude....
See that's how I am, I love to research, obsessively sometimes...but it doesn't affect how I see things after the fact. Some people it does, and I understand.Β
I just don't see them living happily ever after, I'm preparing myself for that. In my mind I see a few things happening-one is Sandor will return to Sansa somehow, and he will avenge her, protect her....make vows to her (sort of solidifying the ones he made during blackwater). And then I see something else, perhaps bittersweet-one of them dying, or both. He dying to protect and honor her, and she will go to him, or she will die and he will take his life, or they both take their lives....I don't know, I just see it being their final place of rest, and he will be in the arms of his little bird, his Maiden, and she her Warrior. Now I'm sad.
I know there were a lot of arguments and controversy as to casting people based on GRRM's descriptions. I don't know why they made the decisions they do, but for the most part I'm happy with the casting.Β

chickedylee In reply to kallielef [2013-08-31 05:07:08 +0000 UTC]
Originally, I didn't have the ability to watch the show, so I did some minor research, but once I found the books, I was on a roll. And some things I caught on without really needing the book. It's one thing to know what's happening and another as to the how. The story isn't ruined by my spoiling it, and it makes me smile to know that you understand.
While having a happy ending would be great, I know that's not going to happen. I'm expecting a bittersweet or downer, between those two or in the middle. Your theories are pretty much how I see it going down, and those are some good theories. Personally, I'd rather have Sansa live and Sandor die, and if they do die, Sandor first. Although Sandor is a deconstruction of knights, or is a purposeful deconstruction (for good reason), I feel he's one of the not best but most tolerable of 'knights' in the series. Yes, I can see him dying to honor and protect Sansa.Β
If it's in a blaze of glory, Sandor dies in the arms of his Little Bird, and as she fights and tears through her enemies, arrows and swords piercing skin that was once dust white and clear as summer's winter sky, Sansa reaches towards a hand that is unlike its cruel counterparts. Through the carnage it breaks, and fingers clasp securely around her broken and bloodied digits. Her strength dwindles, so hard to see now, but power is in her possession. Fearlessness, sweet songs, thin air of snow, and Sansa charges into the protection and eternity that is her Warrior, one last time. We really should stop doing this to ourselves.
Holding on to it will make me angry, and it's something I must accept. I am going to watch season four, and while I'm displeased with the decisions, there isn't much I can do. GRRM, I shake my head at you, but it's your world-your work. The casting isn't bad, it's just...iffy, or maybe I'm being nitpicky. I think it's best that I let it go this time.

Yeah, I'm taking my sweet time with the books, drinking it all in...They literally are a feast.Β
Yes! I know quite a bit about future canon in the books, but doesn't phase me. Of course I'd like to leave some things to the imagination, so I try and not dive into other people's metas and conspiracies that often. But I love talking to you and others about it nonetheless!Β
Thanks, I've been trying to look at the end game from as realistic a perspective as possible. And I agree, I feel like Sansa could possibly carry on after he passes, but she'll never be the same...I imagine her guarding her heart away from "knights" the rest of her life if he passed.Β
Dear God what did you just write? Are you in on something? Who are you, truly ? ;D
Ok, either they should die in each other's arms or Sansa will live and continue on...But will her skin turn from steel to something stronger or more brittle?Β
I know...It has to be difficult for an artist to give up Β a lot of their rights when the works become television series or films. But I thought the Blackwater episode deserved the Hugo Award it received, and I believe GRRM wrote for that one, and it shows. It's probably one of my favorite episodes.Β

Right now, all I have are library books, but I'd really love to purchase the entire series. Several English university courses have taught me that I'm good with a highlighter and pen. It's ok to mutilate your books with the trusted red pen and highlighter; jot those notes down on the side, scribble some footnotes, circle those defining paragraphs and quotes. And that's what I plan to do-reread and mutilate. All healthy and good too. I love reading theories on Tumblr, but I'd rather just wait it out to come to my own conclusions or future theories. But agreed! I love talking to you and others; makes for a lot of fun and possible future events/headcanons!
'Knights' are a dead image to her, or will be definitely. I won't say she'll reach Sandor's level of cynicism concerning them or outward hatred (she might be of the former but hides it well?), but she'll definitely be wary/hardened towards the idea of knights. As a reader, it's best that we try to aim for the realistic ending, but still look fondly at the optimistic ones. I do say Sandor might die, but only when his story has run its course.Β
'daaaah!' I really, really, really want to write some GoT/ASOIAF fanfiction (Sandor/Sansa/Elia Martell related ones), but I'm really weary because whoa-look at these characters. These fingers and brains lack the skill to get it all down; I have a few ideas here and there but nothing concrete. Someday...
Who am I? Ah, I am but a humble and lowly college student...wanting to be a writer. xD (but thank you!)
Sansa living on. I'd like for her skin to have the appearance of something fragile, but when it's touched, even barely, it doesn't feel fragile at all. Very steel-like, hard, as she has turned. Appearances are deceiving. Despite all she has been forced to endure, I hope Sansa will retain her compassion-her goodness.Β
Finally! Finally got to finish season one, and since I don't have season two yet, I'll probably have to watch it online somewhere. I'm nearly in the middle of "A Feast for Crows," and I'm all anxious to find out what's going on with 'Alayne' (Sansa is getting into the role and we can't blame her). With your words, they must've done the Blackwater episode justice, and having GRRM write it makes it even better. I can't wait to get to it.Β
